This piece was written during the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the writers and actors currently on strike, tv shows and movies being covered in Fangirlish Feels of the Week wouldn’t exist. We stand with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA.
We watch a lot of TV and movies! And we read a lot of books too, not to mention the time we spend on TikTok. In case all the reviews, interviews, news, and features didn’t give you a clue (wink, wink), we come together to highlight all those great moments that our favorite shows, movies, and books give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Moment that made you collapse into a puddle of FEELS

Ashley T.: I’ve been catching up on Only Murders in the Building this week, and man, in episode 2 where Mabel explains why she loves Girl Cop so much, that broke my heart in the best way possible. It’s always been interesting to me to see how people use art, no matter how high or low-brow, to cope and process their trauma, and this was a perfect example of that idea.
Rachel: I’m rewatching season 1 of The Wheel of Time and all the Lan/Nynaeve details I missed the first time around are making me happy. And all the things I loved too! That moment when Nynaeve’s power just explodes when she touches the One Power for the first time to save his life? COME ON. That’s great ship stuff right there.
Erin: Seeing Conrad’s face when he caught Jeremiah and Belly kissing on his car, I woulda gone ape shit on them. He became defensive, as he does. But I can’t blame Conrad. I cried for him.
WTF Moment of the Week

Ashley T.: We’re still striking because these studios can’t negotiate in good faith with the WGA or SAG-AFTRA? Seriously? It really isn’t that hard, studio folk. Get your act together so we can all move on with our lives.
Rachel: When Alice ditches the nice veterinarian she met for the questionable guy she works with in The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. I KNOW he’s gonna be trouble.
Christabel: The AfterParty season 2 came up with a crazier murder mystery than season 1 and I’m hooked.
Tik Tok That Made Me LOL

Shana: It’s timely, and it features a cat!
Christabel: Cats should never be left alone!
Lyra: Prime Video…girl. What you did A League of Their Own was downright dirty.
What We’re Reading This Week

Ashley T.: Because I can’t go a week without some kind of Star Trek in my life, I’m still digging into my backlog of new Trek comics from IDW. Stay tuned here for a Star Trek comics round-up soon!
Rachel: I just started Thomas Franks’ The Wrecking Crew: How Conservatives Rule and it’s a stinging rebuke of that ideology right out of the gate. And it was written years before You Know Who became President so it just feels more relevant now…
Erin: Meant for Me by Tay Marley. I love her books and am excited to read all the things that she writes. I know I am privileged to get ARC’s and I am so appreciative of it.
What We Rewatched This Week

Shana: Continuing my Suits rewatch…I finished season 2, the season of “DO YOU LOVE HARVEY SPECTER,” a reference to “the other time,” and “I can’t be me without you.”
Of course, it was also the season of Donna lying (to herself and everyone else) by claiming she loved Harvey “like a brother or a cousin.” But it was also the season of Harvey getting high with Mike after Mike’s grandmother died, opening up to him about his own tragic backstory. It was the season of Jessica defeating Daniel Hardman (again, and the first of many times).
And the season of that Machel scene. Just god-tier…right in time to go into the kinda ridiculous “everyone from Game of Thrones is here” season 3. Just saying, I continue to love them, Your Honor—even Louis…when he behaves.
Rachel: Before season 2 premieres, I’m rewatching The Wheel of Time season 1 and I’m even more impressed with the production values and locations. I’m enjoying the Aes Sedai internal intrigues more too since I have a feeling that will be significant in the overall scope of the series. And I will always love Lan/Nynaeve (and I hope they don’t break my heart in the end).
Erin: I rewatched the season finale of The Summer I Turned Pretty like 4 times. Does that count?
