Okay, but real talk… what is up with us? Are we okay? I understand that seeing Chris Evans married is upsetting for some fans (I mean, I guess I understand it …though truly, all I feel about that is a combo of “good for him” and “I hope he’s happy,” so maybe I don’t understand it), but the way the narrative from the marriage went from fans making jokes about being disappointed he’s off the market to “She’s 26” trending on Twitter is frankly, disturbing.
Because yes, Alba Baptista is indeed 26. An adult capable of making her own decisions. And yes, Chris Evans is 42. But from all we know of their relationship they didn’t meet in a situation that put him in a position of power over her, they didn’t meet when she was underage or barely over age, and she is a successful actress in her own right.
So, eh …yeah. Shes’ 26. So what?
There’s also Chris Evans’ dating history to consider.
I mean, honestly, if Chris Evans’ wedding were causing me this much distress, I would probably log off or something.
In the end, it’s possible to side-eye men dating women half their age and look at Chris Evans and Alba Baptista and be like, yeah, you know what, this isn’t really problematic — some people are just jealous.
