Get ready to ring in the holiday season with Ted Lasso‘s Hannah Waddingham in Apple TV+’s Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas.
The streaming service has unwrapped a first-look photo of the highly-anticipated musical holiday special after its announcement in April 2023. Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas will premiere on Wednesday, November 22, on Apple TV+. BAFTA Award winner Hamish Hamilton directs the special that is executive produced by Waddingham, Katy Mullan, Moira Ross, Raj Kapoor, and Nick Todisco.
Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas will be the first holiday special for the award-winning actress, but not for Apple TV+. Done + Dusted, who produced Waddingham’s special, is the same team behind 2020’s Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special. In this musical event, Waddingham “will ring in the holidays as she welcomes special guests for a musical extravaganza at the London Coliseum,” per its official description.
Audiences worldwide can watch the special recorded live in front of an audience in time for the holiday season, Waddinghan’s favorite time of the year. Waddingham will perform festive classics accompanied by her spectacular big band during Hannah Waddingham: Home for Christmas.
The festive event will also feature special surprise guests — a role Waddingham filled on Michale Bublé‘s holiday special for NBC in 2021.
Hannah Waddingham performed “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” with Bublé during Michael Bublé’s Christmas in the City. Ted Lasso fans will know all too well that Waddingham can sing that song like no other, considering she does so during the award-winning show’s second season. Waddingham sang the tune with Jason Sudeikis on Ted Lasso‘s live-action holiday episode, 2×04, “Carol of the Bells,” in August 2021.
Waddingham is also present in Ted Lasso‘s animated holiday short, “The Missing Christmas Mustache,” which debuted in December 2021. So, Hannah Waddingham, Christmas, and Apple TV+ are the perfect combination for this — and every — holiday season.
