F**k Cancer.
Seriously, f**k cancer!
Yesterday, we found ourselves sitting on our couch, crying, as we were captivated by an interview on Good Morning America. Michael Strahan’s daughter, Isabella Strahan, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor known as medulloblastoma. The college freshman sat down with Robin Roberts to talk about her diagnosis.
If you watch Good Morning America, you know that late last year, Michael Strahan had an unexplained absence. While a lot of people just thought that he was on an assignment that no one knew about, that wasn’t what happened. He was in Los Angeles, supporting his daughter. Family comes first and that is something we applaud, love, and think the world of. He’s a father first and that is a testament to his character.
Isabella had been experiencing several symptoms – ones that if we’re honest we would have ignored if our body exhibited them. She had severe headaches, nausea, and was dizzy. She thought it was vertigo and well, we woulda thought the same. Then she started throwing up blood and went to the doctor.
“I didn’t notice anything was off till probably like October 1,” Isabella told Robin Roberts in the interview. “That’s when I definitely noticed headaches, nausea, couldn’t walk straight.”
The 19-year-old just finished six weeks of radiation. 30 long sessions in six weeks. She was able to ring the bell and if you watch the interview, you will see that her Dad and sister were there to support her. Next up is chemotherapy at Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center in Durham, North Carolina.
She is partnering with the hospital for a YouTube series, chronicling what she is experiencing as she receives treatment at the hospital.
“I don’t want to hide it anymore,” Isabella said. It was at this moment that we lost it, as Isabella teared up. We can’t even imagine what it would be like to share a diagnosis that is so serious and personal on television.
But we’re thankful that she did. She’s going to make a difference. She already has. See the interview below.
Isabella posted her first vlog on her YouTube channel. Be sure to subscribe and be sure to support her in her journey. You can watch her first vlog below and subscribe to her YouTube channel HERE.
We’re all with you Isabella and sending all of our love and support.
