Marketing isn’t easy, but it is a lot of fun. We do appreciate a good marketing moment – one where someone can make fun of themselves and just run with it. We know that it’s a risk, especially in the age of social media where no matter what you do, some troll somewhere is going to have an opinion about your life.
We miss the days of fun marketing. We’re LOVING the fact that Jessica Simpson isn’t afraid to have a little bit of fun.
It’s been over two decades since Jessica Simpson questioned “Is this chicken that I have, or is this fish” while eating Chicken of The Sea on an episode of the MTV show, Newlyweds.

It’s an iconic moment. One that we’ll never forget. Simpson is now starring in a Chicken of the Sea spot, alongside her daughter, Maxwell, as part of the brand’s “It’s the One For Me” campaign.
“Mom, what are you eating in the packet,” Maxwell asks her Mom, who is sitting on the couch eating tuna, like she did in the Newlyweds episode.
“It’s called Chicken of the Sea, but it’s not really chicken — it’s tuna,” she responds. “So don’t get confused by it.”
“Who would get confused by that?” Maxwell asks her. TBH, we about fell out of our seats laughing. See the spot below –
This is just perfection. We applaud. Might actually buy Chicken of the Sea.
