Per usual, Netflix is serving up more quality Asian content. This time around it’s in the form of Ready, Set, Love. Coming from Thailand, it tells the story of a world where men are vastly outnumbered by women. So to find your perfect pairing, it’s not just as simple as dating. You’ll have to enter a government-sponsored program to compete for the man of your dreams. Or the perfect gentleman of your dreams. And competition is rough in Ready, Set, Love as families go all Hunger Games to train their daughters to be the smartest, most cunning, and athletically trained women they can be to get their man.
That’s where our lead comes in. She’s just trying to do her best and make it through her day while working hard and struggling to take care of her families medical expenses. And even though no one thinks she’ll win in this game, she has to. Her family depends on it, especially with the benefits that come with winning. So no matter what challenges she may face, she’s going to fight for love. And along the way, she might actually find it with more than one guy if the trailer is any indication.
