The Boys season 4 trailer dropped on Friday, May 3, 2024, and it looks like it’s going to be the bloodiest and darkest season yet. If fans thought it was a no-holds-bar fight before, we’re in for a lot of treats this season. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any crazier and bloodier, the show proves us wrong. We see Ryan Butcher throwing a man at a building. V’ed up chickens and bloodthirsty flying sheep attacking the group and any other poor souls nearby. And what appears to be an ice-skating show about The Seven. Of course, this wouldn’t be a complete trailer of The Boys without violence and season 4 is proving to be one of the bloodiest.

Homelander And Butcher Rally Their Troops For The Biggest Battle In The Series
If it’s not obvious, Homelander and Butcher aren’t holding anything back this season.
Homelander isn’t playing the nice, All-American hero and telling The Seven to be “wrathful gods.” And some of them seem to be taking this advice to heart. The Deep uses a baseball bat to bash someone’s head. He’s seen fighting Starlight, evidence that the two are finally going to go head-to-head after being enemies for so long. New hero, Firecracker, declares war on Starlight’s fans. Starlight appears to be a big target for The Seven this season. This makes sense since she exposed Homelander’s true personality and Vought’s cover-up for Soldier Boy’s attack at Herogasm last season.
Butcher is aware his days are numbered (courtesy of the Temp V he took last season) and is looking to end Homelander before his time runs out. Despite all the lies and horrible things he’s done, the group cares about him and wants their revenge too. They’ve come too far to call it quits and this is going to be the biggest fight they’ve ever been in. But Butcher seems to have found something that could help take out the Supes once and for all.
What Is This “Virus” That Butcher Is Talking About?
If fans were wondering what the virus that Butcher speaks of is, this ties in with the spinoff show, Gen V. Without giving away too many spoilers about Gen V, a virus was developed to eradicate Supes was developed and all samples were given to Victoria Neuman, who killed the person responsible for creating it. She’s not exactly on Homelander’s side and even he knows that. She could be waiting for the right moment to use it against him.
One of the few people who knows about it is Grace Mallory. She refused to use the virus against the Supes when Indira Shetty (the antagonist of Gen V) suggested it. However, she recorded the whole conversation so it can be assumed that she looked into it. We’ll just have to wait and see how Butcher gets his hands on it. The only other people who know about the virus are the main cast of Gen V. Two characters, Sam and Cate, are briefly seen in the season 4 trailer. So it’s possible Homelander knows about it or will find out if he doesn’t already.
Season 4 Just Can’t Get Here Fast Enough
Since the trailer’s release fans have been looking at and listening to every detail and there are so many questions about what’s in store for the characters. So far, we know that Sam and Cate from Gen V will appear. Whether they’re supporting roles or just cameos is unknown. Jeffery Dean Morgan is also joining this season as Joe Kessler, but there are no other details about this character. It can be assumed that he’ll be different from his comic counterpart to better fit the show’s narrative.
The fight between The Boys and Homelander and the Seven is going to get even uglier and we can’t wait to see the outcome.
The Boys season 4 premieres on June 13, 2024, on Prime Video. The first three seasons are available to watch now.
