We’re definitely not thrilled with CBS because of the cancellation of NCIS: Hawai’i. We’re allowed to still be angry and stay in that moment. We feel cheated. We feel that the show should have been given more. We feel like there should have been a lot more, especially with the cliffhanger that it ended on.
It’s not right.
No one asked for NCIS: Origins (and if you did, well, we’re not sure why), but we also know that it is not the casts fault that it is coming to be. If we end up watching it and we like it, we will say we were wrong. But we’d prefer NCIS: Hawai’i and representation. We’d prefer a woman in charge and giving girls someone to look up to.
But here we are, with a show about Gibbs. Now, we will admit that we love Austin Stowell, so there is that. Two more have been added to the cast – Patrick Fischler (American Fiction, Billions) and Julian Black Antelope (Prey) in reccurring roles.
Fischler will play NCIS Special Agent in Charge Cliff Walker. He’s fighting to get his agency the respect that he deserves.
Black Antelope will portray Chief Medical Examiner Kai Blackrock, who is working out of the San Diego County M.E.’s Office. It’s his job at the agency that will force him to face his life and his feelings about the world.
Austin Stowell, Mariel Molino, Kyle Schmid, Tyla Abercrumbie and Diany Rodriguez are set to star.
NCIS: Origins takes place in 1991, years before the events of NCIS. The show follows a young Gibbs, who is part of the NIS Camp Pendleton office, where he and his team and led by Mike Franks. Stowell is set to play Gibbs with Schmid set to play Franks.
The show received a straight to series order for the 2024 – 2025 season.
