Get ready! Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird will executive produce a new untitled docuseries about the lives of top female athletes in the United States. Deadline exclusively reported that Bird’s media company, TOGETHXR, will collaborate with Bunim/Murray Productions. The unscripted series “will follow athletes from the WNBA, NWSL, PWHL, and more, along with their families, wives, girlfriends, partners, and even their situationships.”
Celebrating the news on X (formerly Twitter), TOGETHXR wrote, “This docuseries will take you behind the scenes and into the wins, losses, and love of world class athletes.”
“We believe in the power of sport to tell stories that transcend the game. This series is an opportunity to showcase the incredible journeys of these phenomenal athletes, on and off the field,” Bird and Rapinoe said in a joint statement. “As athletes and partners who share a bond through our love of sports, we’re thrilled to team up with Bunim-Murray and TOGETHXR to bring these stories to life and give fans a deeper look at the lives of the athletes who inspire us all,” they added.
The docuseries’ official logline reads: “With women’s sports more in the spotlight than ever, viewers will go behind-the-scenes with professional female athletes and their partners, as they navigate the complexities of pro-sports and their relationships off the field. With a focus on the unique dynamics within these leagues, such as relationships between teammates or rivals, the show explores the challenges and triumphs of wins, losses, and love as a world class athlete.”

Bunim/Murray’s Steve Ezell (SVP, Current Programming) and Michael Driscoll (VP, Development) are leading the studio’s development efforts alongside Jess Robertson (Co-Founder, CCO) and Tina Tozzi (Head of Development) for TOGETHXR.
“We couldn’t be more excited and at the same time honored to be teaming with superstars Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe, as well as the talented team at TOGETHXR. This series will take audiences where they have never gone before, behind the scenes with elite professional female athletes and inside their relationships with loved ones, friends, and other top sports stars,” Bunim/Murray’s Steve Ezell and Michael Driscoll said.
The two production companies reportedly plan to show the docuseries to potential buyers soon. TOGETHXR is a media and commerce company founded by Bird, as well as Alex Morgan, Chloe Kim, and Simone Manuel.
“With a focus on rich storytelling, TOGETHXR is an unapologetic platform where representation and equality is the norm. A place where culture, activism, lifestyle, and sports converge. We shatter the often narrow depictions of women in the media with content featuring a diverse and inclusive community of game changers, culture shapers, thought leaders, and barrier breakers.” per the business’s purpose statement.
TOGETHXR is already known for Prime Video’s Surf Girls Hawai’i, which debuted last year, as well as The Syd and TP Show on Fubo TV. The feature-length documentary Power of the Dream premieres on Prime Video on Tuesday, June 18.
