What would you do if you could talk to your younger self? What would you say? How would you change your own life? That’s the premise for My Old Ass, a coming-of-age story that promises a lot more heartfelt conversations and drama than what the title would have us believe. Though there might be some laughs too. And hey, perhaps if we met up with our older self, we might also want to check how that “old ass” is doing!
Probably wouldn’t be near the top of the list, but we might get there at some point.
The synopsis for My Old Ass reads:
In this fresh coming-of-age story, an 18th birthday mushroom trip brings free-spirited Elliott (Maisy Stella) face-to-face with her wisecracking 39-year-old self (Aubrey Plaza). But when Elliott’s “old ass” starts handing out warnings about what her younger self should and shouldn’t do, Elliott realizes she has to rethink everything about family, love, and what’s becoming a transformative summer.
