One thing that always makes us want to watch a movie is when you can tell that the actors involved with the movie as passionate about it. It means something when you can tell that they love the movie that they are creating.
When it comes to Tyler Hynes, he definitely shows all of the love that he feels for movies that he makes. When it comes to Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story one great thing is that we’ve been able to see his love for what the movie means to him, but also that he knows what it means to his fans.
It’s not only that he’s in it. Yes, that’s a plus. But it’s more.
Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story seems like something completely new for Hallmarks Countdown to Christmas. What the premise and all of the press around it is gives the viewer is hope and excitement. In a time where it feels like there is no hope and everything is overwhelming, all of the pictures, videos, and such surrounding the movie offer us an escape.
So yes, we’re appreciative of all of the looks. An escape is what we all need.
When posting the the photos Hynes his caption started, “A week like no other because of you. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to be in the movie or talk about it. To all the local talent filling our stadium and bringing a spirit only you can bring in KC, thank you 🤍🙏🏻 . The week was hot, and it had nothin to do with the temperature ;)”
He continued, “And thanks mama Kelce for the ✨ pics and making me sneak a note into Trav’s locker.”
He continued by tagging a people that have been in the photos and had an impact on the movie and him (well, that’s what we’re guessing, because that’s the type of man he is).
He finished off by saying, “In these pictures or not, you know who you are…the love is real 🤍. More fun to come… ;)”

At the Summer 2024 Television Critics Association Press Tour, additions to the cast were announced. Previously announced and set to star were Tyler Hynes, Hunter King, and Ed Begley. Diedrich Bader (American Housewife), Megyn Price (Rules of Engagement), Richard Riehle (Office Space) and Christine Ebersole (Bob Hearts Abishola), have been added to the cast.
But if you think that the movie won’t have Chiefs staff and players, you would be wrong. Trading in their playbooks for scripts for are Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid, Chiefs Guard Trey Smith, Wide Receiver Mecole Hardman Jr., Running Back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Defensive End George Karlaftis and other players to be “drafted” later. The movie will also feature a special appearance by Taylen Biggs, Chiefs fan and red carpet correspondent.
Hunter King plays Alana Higman, who’s sure that her family’s lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them a frontrunner to win the team’s “Fan of the Year” contest. Tyler Hynes stars as Derrick, Director of Fan Engagement, who is tasked with evaluating how Alana and her family stack up against the other two finalists. As the pair spends time together, it’s clear there’s a spark between them but when her grandfather’s (Ed Begley Jr.) vintage Chiefs, good luck winter hat goes missing, Alana begins to doubt everything she believed about fate, destiny and even questions her future with Derrick – unless, that is, a little Christmas magic can throw a Hail Mary.
We’re definitely looking forward to this movie. Are you?
This great article makes me even more excited to enjoy everything that Holiday Touchdown has in store! Countdown to Christmas can’t come soon enough! 👏🏻
