We almost made it to the end of an episode of The Bachelorette without drama, but alas, The Bachelorette 21×03 delivered at the end, because just when we thought we were out, this show always pulls us back in! I’m not sure if we should be thanking Aaron or blaming him, because we went from a pretty mellow episode of people promising to put Jenn first to “Don’t speak on me, Don’t speak on my name,” and though I’m still not sure this is going anywhere good for Jenn, it is pretty dang entertaining, I’m not going to lie.
And, and …I might be changing my tune on Devin. I know, I know, we’re only on episode 3 and I’m already doing what is basically 180s on some guys, but this is The Bachelorette! This is what we do. We change our minds with more information. And I already wasn’t sure last week, it was a really wait-and-see approach.
Like, okay, I wouldn’t say he’s my favorite. But I will give him that he seems to be authentic and actually cares about Jenn. He hasn’t actually lied, and he comes off as a bit brash and “too much” sometimes, but as someone who has been called both at times, Devin is just being Devin. He doesn’t seem to be acting maliciously at all, and he has tried to call out bad behavior when he’s seen it.

Plus, Sam M. and Thomas N. are kinda giving toxic masculinity. The drama isn’t one-sided, no matter how much they’re trying to make it seem like it is. Sure, it might all be fixed if they sat down and talked like adults, but that isn’t just on Devin. Like my favorite person on this show, the producer in charge of the captions on the confessionals, said, Sam N. needs to look up the definition of bully.
And Aaron, dude, if you’re going to walk away, which hey …I get it, this is your dream, then name names. You feel so confident in what you’re saying, name names. Because this just made the drama worse. And I know what the show is, and it seems like everything this season has just made the drama worse, but the guys really took it to another level this week. At this point, I just want to let them battle it out, and see who wins. Just to clear the air.
Overall, though, the episode — despite the warning at the beginning — was pretty entertaining but more or less tame (though I’m not a fan of forcing people into uncomfortable positions so I felt really bad for Sam N. the entire time), until the last twenty minutes or so. And as someone who has been to a Thunder From Down Under show, the warning was a bit over the top. But the show is worth it, especially if, like me, you’re dragged there on a bachelorette party.

And I’ll say it: Sam M. is very hot, but there’s something about confidence. So, Jenn certainly picked the winner correctly, and I enjoyed Devin a whole lot. And I’m sure Sam M. wasn’t even number 2. I’m actually very over Sam M. So many more interesting dudes around.
Who got a rose: Spencer, Devin, Jeremy, Marcus, John M, Jonathon, Austin, Grant, Sam M., Thomas N., Dylan, and Sam N.
Who is the drama: Both Sams, Thomas N and Devin (though he is better at not starting it than the others)
Who will probably make it to the final four: Marcus, Sam M., Jeremy, Grant
Who should make it to the final four: Devin, Marcus, Spencer, and Dylan
Odds on favorite to be the next Bachelor right now: Marcus
