Tubi has dropped the first teaser trailer for Wynonna Earp: Vengeance and promised more during this week’s San Diego Comic-Con panel.
Wynonna Earp tells the story of the demon slaying anti-hero and great great granddaughter of legendary lawman Wyatt Earp. It ran from 2016 to 2021 for four seasons. And in that time it became a cult classic for the way that it flipped the bird at expectations when it comes to sci-fi TV but also what roles women can play within this construct. While many were satisfied with the ending of the series, others weren’t. And now Tubi is stepping in to take us back to Purgatory one more time.
In the teaser trailer we get to see brief glimpses of our favorites after being shown the memorable town sign for Purgatory. Nicole Haught (Katherine Barrell) appears on screen, clearly in a forest and sporting a “sheriff” badge on her hat. Then there’s Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon), looking scruffy as ever in the middle of an icy nowhere. We also see our beloved Waverly Earp (Dom Provost-Chalkley) enjoying a hot chocolate while looking through a book that is clearly given demon vibes. (Don’t think we didn’t notice the short hair. Which we love!)
Following along in the teaser trailer, we get to see Sheriff Randy Nedley (Greg Lawson), still kicking after all this time. We even get to see our beloved Jeremy Chetri (Varun Saranga), who is looking pretty slick in his suit with what looks like a Black Badge pin on the lapel. (The beard is totally working for him too.) And finally we get to the star of the show, Wynonna Earp herself who looks absolutely timeless and like she just stepped off the season 4 finale and is on her next adventure.
This next adventure just so happens to see her returning to Purgatory, after leaving town to find her daughter, because a psychotic villain is hellbent on revenge against her and everyone that she loves. And even though this teaser trailer was relatively short, we’re really looking forward to the kind of person who would wear those lime green hideous boots. They have to be the villain after all, right?
More is coming in the form of Wynonna Earp: Vengeance at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. On Saturday July 27th at 1:45 p.m. PT, Earpers will join the cast of Wynonna Earp: Vengeance for a panel. That’s when fans will get to see the full official trailer for this 90-minute scripted special by creator Emily Andras. She will be joined by Melanie Scrofano, Tim Rozon, Dom Provost-Chalkley, and Katherine Barrell. As for the host, Dani Kind will be making her return to guide us through this next journey to Purgatory.
