It’s no secret we are Ryan Murphy fans. It’s also no secret that we have been waiting (im)patiently for news on season two of Monsters. Since we first saw the teaser we have followed all the things. And now we finally know when Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story will be heading to Netflix.
According to What’s on Netflix, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story will be released on September 19th. The series stars Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch, who will play Lyle and Erik, respectively. Chloe Sevigny and Javier Bardem star as their parents, Kitty and Jose Menendez. Also starring in Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story is Ari Graynor, Jade Pettyjohn, Jeff Perry, Nathan Lane, Dallas Roberts, and Leslie Grossman.
Most people are familiar with the story of the Menendez Brothers, but if you are not, here is the synopsis: Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story will tell the story of Lyle (Chavez) and Erik Menendez (Koch), who in 1996 were convicted for the murders of their parents, which took place in 1989. While the brothers maintained that they killed their parents due to years of abuse, both physical and mental, authorities believe it was done to inherit their father’s money.
The series created by Ian Brennan and Murphy will be a total of nine episodes. Carl Franklin, Paris Barclay, and Michael Uppendahl are just a few of the Directors attached to the series. We don’t know how much of the story we’ll get with those nine episodes but based on the cast, our guess is that a lot of the focus will be on the trial. That wouldn’t really be surprising though, considering the trial was so heavily covered in the 90s. Something we do know, courtesy of What’s on Netflix is the titles of all nine episodes. We don’t know the exact numerical order but we’ll take anything we can get.

- Blame it on the Rain

Now that we have all of this information about Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, we have to imagine that a trailer must be on the way. Especially if the series releases in a month. When it does, you know we’ll be talking all about it right here.
