Ryan Murphy’s 10-episode drama series Grotesquerie will be released in a few weeks, and we can’t wait. For those who don’t know what it’s about, the series centers on Lois Tryon (Niecy Nash), a Detective who teams up with a nun, Sister Megan (Micaela Diamond), to investigate a series of heinous crimes that seem personal. As they try to solve the mystery, they grapple with personal issues and uncover a sinister web that raises more questions than answers.
The official trailer for Grotesquerie has been released, and we thought it would answer the questions we had after seeing the teaser a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We still have questions, so we thought we would make another list of five questions we have after watching the trailer.
1. What is Travis Kelce’s role?

Yes, we still do not know who Travis Kelce is playing. Why it’s a secret is beyond us. But the fact that we still don’t know makes us hope it’s at least worth all this because they are really dragging this out. We’re still speculating he’s an orderly at the hospital where Lois’s husband Marshall (Courtney B. Vance) is. And one thats more than likely got bad intentions. Or, he may surprise us and end up being good. Who are we kidding, is anyone ever truly good in a Murphy project?
2. Is Sister Megan as good as she claims to be?

Sister Megan is a nun and a journalist who is helping Lois out, but we have suspicions about her. We have a feeling there is more to her than meets the eye. Why is she being so helpful? Is it to throw Lois off and keep her from solving the case? Is she genuinely concerned with stopping the killer? And ummm why is she having private meet ups with Father Charlie?
3. What’s up with Father Charlie?

Okay, so technically, we did get one of our previous questions answered because we have proof that the mystery dude holding the dagger was, in fact, Father Charlie (Nicholas Alexander Chavez). Now that we got that squared away, we want to know what’s up with him. He’s doing some things that are, um, less than priestly. The character description for him on FX says Father Charlie “walks a thin line between traditional values, his progressive worldview and his desires as a passionate and virile young man.” So yeah… things are going to be interesting with him for sure. And apparently Sister Megan as well.
4. Is some of this just in Lois’s head?

Lois is doing her best to figure out who the killer is but she’s struggling with her own personal demons. Lois’s daughter Merritt (Raven Goodwin) tells her it seems like the killer is taunting her. But why? Is there a link from her past involved? Is any of this stuff that she’s seeing while in a state of drunkenness because it’s clear she has a history with alcohol. Or is everything she sees real and people are just choosing not to believe her?
5. What is up with Nurse Redd?

There’s always a creepy nurse in horror shows and films. Always. Nurse Redd (Lesley Manville) is interesting to say the least. What does she know about Lois? Does she know anything about all the killings that have been going on? And exactly what is making her have a “shiver in her quiver?” do we even want to know? Our guess is probably not.
