The Pogues are back and not a moment too soon! The trailer for OBX4 or Outer Banks Season 4, which premieres Part 1 on October 10, aka in just a few short weeks, finally gives us an answer as to why the Pogues are back to treasure hunting after finally getting the gold they’ve at the end of Season 3 and the answer is ….they ran out of money. THEY RAN OUT OF MONEY. I mean, we shouldn’t really be surprised, but like …they ran out of money? Forgive us if a part of us is like, are you kidding? How could they run out of money?
On the other hand, this is a TV show, so hey, more adventures! On the other hand, how much is gold worth these days? Nothing? What do you mean they ran out of money?
But anyway, our Pogues are back! There’s romance! There’s friendship. There will surely be shenanigans. The Kooks will Kook. And we will not be able to take our eyes off the screen. That’s the way it always goes. Let’s just hope this time, they either get a treasure that lasts a bit longer, or they don’t get any treasure, because you know, the only treasure that matters is each other and all of that.

Following last season’s 18-month flash-forward showing Wes Genrette’s proposal for the Pogues to find Blackbeard’s treasure, Season 4 takes us back in time to the lead-up of that moment. After finding the gold at El Dorado, the Pogues return to the OBX and commit to having a “normal” life. They’ve built themselves a new safe haven, officially dubbed “Poguelandia 2.0”, where they live together and run a fairly successful bait, tackle, and charter tour shop. But after some financial setbacks, John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo take Wes up on his offer, drawn back into the “G” game for a whole new adventure. But before they know it, they’re well in over their heads, with dangerous new enemies hot on their heels racing them to the treasure. Meanwhile, their problems are only growing, and they’re forced to question their past, present, and future – who they really are, has it all been worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?
