Wow.
It’s not often that you watch a television show and you’re left with all of these emotions, most of them which make you mad, but you’re still like WOW, all of the emotions.
Tell Me Lies has been an up and down roller coaster this season, but it’s one that you still go on – even though you know it is going to make you sick. And if you can trust one thing about this season, it has done just that – made me sick and it ends on a note that makes me so mad I wanna hit walls.
And that my friends is good television. Even if it’s television that makes me angry and frustrated, I do know that it’s good.
But this episode was all sorts of messed up. How we got to this point, I will never begin to understand how the things that happened in 2008 are set to destroy things in 2015.
But Steven made sure of that.
Lucy and Steven are two of the worst characters in television, but in a way that is why they work. Their toxicity is also what destroys them.

2015
We pick up with Steven seeing Lucy have sex in the jacuzzi with Max. She had asked him to come down to talk to her.
Steven and Lucy have a demented relationship – one that I don’t get. Both seem to like to mind f*** each other and are fine with it. Lets be real, there just is no justify the things that they do.
Steven leaves Lucy a text thanking her for the show, which Max sees. Way to ruin that relationship Lucy, but hey at least Max gets away from that hot mess.
The weird obsession that Lucy and Steven have – I don’t get. I mean she is looking everywhere for him when she should be concentrating on Bree’s wedding. And when he messages her they have sex really quickly before he disappears.
They need help. They both need a lot of help.

THE RUN TO LEO
Regret.
We’ve all felt it in our lives. It’s a part of who we are and it’s a part of what makes us human. But personally, don’t feel like there is anything worse (well that I have felt) than regret of who you’ve slept with.
Lucy wakes up and she’s feeling regret for sleeping with Steven. She should be in full regret for that. She wants to run and where do you run when you are in your own room. Kick people out.
Steven leaves and Lucy knows that she’s freaking out. She tries calling Pippa and tries calling Bree, but neither one are available.
The relatable thing about Lucy is that she doesn’t know how to deal with her emotions. I think that is why – even though I believe that she’s one of the absolute worst people in this show – I get her at times. She’s trying so hard to be loved, but she doesn’t love herself.
And it’s quite sad.
When Bree and Pippa aren’t available she runs to Leo. She apologizes for everything that she’s done, says that he makes her a better person, and that she wants to be with him. The two tell each other that they love each other and decide that they want to be together.
She has sex with Leo, even though she just had sex with Steven a few hours prior. That would be something that destroys Leo when he finds out, but also says something about who she is. I just can’t with her.
THE FIGHT TO END IT ALL
Steven showing up at the party with Evan and seeing Lucy with Drew – no surprise that he lost it. But, I am honestly just shocked that Lucy didn’t see this coming.
When Steven walks in and sees them together, it is no surprise to me that the situation between him and Leo is going to get intense. Evan trying to stop it, well that is cute, but also we know that Steven is going to do whatever it takes to get his way.
And getting his way means that he’s going to push and push. He may lie to Evan and say that he’s gonna back off, but the moment Evan turns his back and leaves him alone, Steven is definitely going to take it to another level.
And that level is starting a fight and provoking Leos temper. When he asks Leo how his – i can’t even say it – tastes, I thought I was going to vomit. No wonder Leo flipped out, but also no shock that Steven didn’t fight back.
He knew what he was doing. He knew that Lucy would come and see that he wasn’t fighting back and Leo would look bad. And thats what happens.
I hate the Leo isn’t going to be around – because I loved him. I thought he was a good guy.
And now that’s all messed up.
I hate you Steven.

DREW RETURNS
Pippa has been with Wrigley and turned to Diana for help to get Drew to Baird. Wrigley needs his brother and we all know it too. Wrigley also needs to see a therapist for his issues.
When Drew and Wrigley are able to talk about their issues, they both realize that a lot is a misunderstanding. They realize that they need each other and seem to pick up right where they left off. But I am not sure that is a good thing.
Actually it turns out to be the worst thing. The two drink and take a ton of pills. Brotherly bonding that ends up with Drew dead.
I can’t imagine what it will be like for Wrigley to live with this for the rest of his life. He doesn’t know how to survive right now, so surviving his brothers death and feeling guilty for it. Can’t imaginee that would be easy at all for him. Having to tell his parents… it feels like a lot.
Lucy is loosing it – because Wrigley is blaming himself for starting this and sending his brother on this road. The thing is Lucy knows that she started this with writing that letter last season.
So when she goes to tell Wrigley, I have to admit that I was shocked that Steven cut her off and said it was him. He wrote the letter because he couldn’t help Drew and thought maybe that the school would be able to step in and do something.
The way that Steven lies is so easy to him that I am just shocked. How can one person have such disregard for the truth that they are more comfortable telling lies? And the way that he fakes his emotions through it – I almost fell off my chair.
And the way that Lucy seems to be okay with it and actually think higher of him for it – I was grossed out.
The way that this show makes me so mad over everything, I couldn’t even contain how gross I felt when he told Lucy he did it because he loved her. No. Just no This isn’t a good thing. None of this is a good thing.
I can’t understand how any of these characters think that the way that they act is okay.

IT’S OPEN AND A LIE
When it comes to Bree and Oliver – I don’t pretend to understand them at all. Is it hot for them to be together? Sure – some scenes have been hot. BUT, the thing is that I know that it is toxic and it’s not a good thing for them to be in this situation. It’s gross.
It’s bad.
When Bree and Oliver break up, I am all for it. I am really all for them being apart. Bree has lost herself in someone loving her. But the thing is that Oliver doesn’t love anyone but himself.
He tells her that he can’t hurt her anymore and that they need to break up. I think that for Bree that is too much to deal with, but she doesn’t get even more than that she’s unsure. She’s unsure of everything that she feels, because she’s never dealt with all the s*** that she has inside.
So rather than accept that it’s the end, she heads over to Olivers. She begs and pleads for them to be together.
Oliver is so shameless that he doesn’t care that he’s right back to hurting her. He’s hurting her by them having sex again. But man is it about to get a lot worse.
When Oliver is in the shower his wife walks in. Bree starts freaking and she tells Bree to be calm. Oh okay Marianne, like it’s that easy. Well turns out that Marianne has known about Bree all along. These two have an open relationship, but Oliver didn’t tell Bree. Why? He thought that the whole it being a secret and in hiding was part of the allure to her.
He’s disgusting. Like honestly, I don’t care if Oliver is built like a Greek God, he’s disgusting. I don’t care so much about an open relationship – to each their own on that front. What is disgusting is the way that that he takes peoples feelings for granted and he doesn’t care. He tries to keep women down by belittling them and by trying to control them.
Oliver gets off on hurting the women that love him – and I do think that he is also perfectly okay with it. I think that Marianne isn’t okay with it, but she pretends that she is so that she doesn’t lose her husband.
Again though, I don’t get it. I don’t get it because seeing Bree and Marianne hurting – I am so grossed out with Oliver.
No one can blame Bree for trying to hurt Marianne – we would all do that. It seems like it’s been a game to Marianne and Oliver.
If I was Bree, I woulda slapped her.

THE MESSAGE TO CHANGE EVERYTHING
Back in 2008, Evan had made the choice to come clean to Steven about sleeping with Lucy. I can’t even talk about what an idiot he is. He knows that Steven isn’t trustworthy and he will destroy anyone that he feels hurt him.
I mean when Evan asks him if he’s going to try and destroy his life, he should know that Steven is capable of doing just that. If those things enter your head, then you know that person is going to do just that.
There are something that you take to the grave. Telling someone about that things that clear your soul, because it makes you feel better, isn’t something that one should necessarily do.
Steven said that they were good, that him and Evan were good. But he also – when Evan asked if he was going to tell Bree and try to ruin his life – said “not today.” We all know that when it comes to Steven, that means that he’s going to do something one day.
And he sits on it.
He sits on it until Bree and Evans wedding day and sends Bree a recording of that day, with Evan admitting to cheating with Lucy. On her wedding day.
He’s nowhere to be found – has disappeared – and he’s still ruining everyones lives years later. Steven is the absolute worst and if this doesn’t prove it, I don’t know what does.
OTHER THOUGHTS
- This whole entire episode is so good, but it makes me so sick that I want to puke. I have to keep reiterating that. These characters are the absolute worst and yet, I can’t stop watching.
- Bree, girl, don’t even with your lies and your avoidance
- Evan you are so p***y whipped it is gross
- Marianne telling Lucy that it’s not a good idea for her to be in anymore of her classes – I woulda been like don’t worry, I am 1000% gonna out you Marianne.
- Lydia telling Steven that she is sorry for how mean she was and that she shouldn’t have listened to Lucy, cause it’s obvi Lucy is a liar??? Ok, well now get why Lydia and Steven are together.
- I really love Wrigley at the wedding – admitting that he’s had a crush on Pippa for years and needs to let it go
- I need to understand why it is that Steven and Lucy can’t let each other go because like they need to
- This season was so good that it made me hate every character on this show – except Wrigley – and I love that it did this. I’m so invested, so committed, and so so in need of more
- Diana and her way of getting Steven to break up with her, as well as her actually doing amazing of her LSATS and keeping it private. WOW, I am impressed by her.
The entire second season of Tell Me Lies is streaming now on Hulu.
