Ghosts‘ “Halloween 4: The Witch” hilariously homages Bridgerton while pulling our characters through the biggest scare since Carol’s death in Season 3.
Patience has had enough of Sam and modern-day antics, so she decides to put her through a witch trial, and when the ghosts agree to convict her out of sheer boredom, they find a statue that looks just like her. Then, they all spiral because they believe Patience is the one who turns Sam into stone after they all deem her guilty of witchcraft. Still, while the episode provides yet another hilarious and successful Halloween chapter, it’s the romances and relationships that stand out—one a canon ship, another that should be canon.
Ghosts’ “Halloween 4: The Witchcraft” Underscores How Deeply Jay Loves Sam

Something we need to talk about more often is how incredible it is to see such a healthy depiction of marriage through Ghosts’ Sam and Jay Arondekar. He’s a city man who left New York to move into an abandoned (and haunted) estate with his wife, and time and again, he puts up with everything she needs because the depth of his love can’t be contained.
What we also need to address in this scenario is that one should never doubt the love a nerd has for their collector’s items. With that in mind, when it comes to his wife, Jay would give up everything he has. After Trevor notifies him that he accidentally sold Sam, Jay does everything in his power to get her back, including a tearful hug that reminds viewers of how deeply he adores her.
What’s especially lovely is that after everything, he even apologizes for not letting her celebrate Halloween because the thought of losing her was a terror he never wants to experience again. Their loyalty to one another continues to floor me, and how Ghosts Season 4, Episode 3, “Halloween 4: The Witch,” touches on this makes the annual holiday episode even more exciting. Plus, with Jay’s family set to visit during Christmas, it will be even more fascinating to continue watching their relationship evolve and stand as an example.
We See You, Hetty and Trevor

What do Ghosts and Bridgerton have in common outside of romance and a singular costume that Rose McIver rocks adorably? Both shows aren’t subtle when it comes to romance, one more than the other, but still. Ghosts writers have said “never say never” about getting the two of them back together according to TVLine. It doesn’t stop viewers from shipping them either because they’re hot and should be together.
More importantly, there’s no logical explanation for why these two can’t have a conversation without touching each other. Sure, it makes sense that Hetty would run to Trevor to ask him a mathematical question (finance bro and all), but there’s no reason for him to extend his arm out and hold onto her?! Yes, I’d also be devastated if someone sold a gorgeous raven statue of mine, but I wouldn’t need to be comforted by “my ex.” Except that’s not all; there’s a brief moment where Hetty voiced that Sam’s Bridgerton-esque dress belonged to her, and Trevor eyes them both, then openly gawks at Hetty. What are you picturing there, bud? Your girl in a bodice ripper? The reformed rake and a baroness who’s never been treated right by her husband…oh, I’ve read that story before—countless times.
Essentially, the relationships in Ghosts and in Bridgerton aren’t that different. The dynamics are too compelling not to explore them further, and the writers are too clever to include little hints like this if they aren’t meant to get back together. Plus, it was just last week that Trevor was giving Nigel flack for living with his ex as if he’s not doing the exact same thing. What makes him and Hetty different? The fact that he still wants her back?
