Finding Mr. Christmas Episode 4 was literally the moment where I realized I’d developed a real attachment to this guys. When the time came for elimination, I was sweating bullets. I didn’t want any of them to leave! So, of course, when Jonathan offered the guys a second chance, I was alive! They had to take it, right? Right?
I don’t know! We don’t know. Because it’s such a good cliffhanger, they of course left it for next episode. But now I cannot stop thinking about the show, so that’s probably a good thing? On the one hand, this is a competition, and Parker is a strong competitor. On the other hand, this is a Hallmark competition, and this is the spirit of Hallmark. So, basically …they’re going to bring Parker back, right, right?
Ever since two guys left last week I knew we’d probably have a week with no elimination, and honestly …I’m really happy if it’s this one.

WE KNOW THESE MEN BY NOW

We can all play the favorites game at this point, but the truth is we know these six men well enough by now that it’s going to be legitimately sad when any of them leaves! And if this is indeed Parker’s turn, that’s going to be legitimately sad. He was very clearly the weakest link in this episode—his talent wasn’t wow and his interview was mid, but considering how well he’s done before, it’s hard to think about him leaving. Can Hallmark offer jobs to all of them?
No, jokes aside, this felt like the week where it all clicked. Before, we might have said Ezra hadn’t really showcases his personality—he did that this week! Or that we hadn’t really seen the best of Elijah yet—now we have! Then there’s Hayden, who is so charming and has done so well so far, but who was in the bottom two this week because that’s how much everyone’s bringing it. And Blake? I interviewed him, you don’t have to tell me how charming he is! Same goes with Jonathan. So, basically, what I’m saying is that whatever happens next is going to hurt me. Which means Hallmark did a really, really good job of picking these men.

FUN, FUN, FUN

I’m going to be real honest, I’ve been wondering about the Festive Face-Offs and how exactly the show was going to keep upping the ante every week, and I have to admit they truly did it. And then the Star Quality challenge was pretty fun, too. There has yet to be one challenge where I’m like meh, which is very good considering the challenges take most of the episode. I like the guys, I like the challenges and I love Jonathan Bennett and Melisa Peterman.
Going into reality TV was a gamble for Hallmark, let’s not mince words. This could have gone disastrously. It could have felt stale. It could have not diferentiated itself from the countless other reality shows out there. Instead, it feels like Hallmark built something really fun here, and I cannot wait to see more—of this season and beyond!
