Team YouThree is back! Matty, Billy, and Sarah reunite to help Olympia with a case in Matlock Season 1, Episode 8, “No, No Monsters.” This time, the legal team is defending a woman who has been defamed. Olympia also knows the defendant because she is a nanny at her and Julian’s children’s school.
Written by Sheridan Watson and directed by Yangzom Brauen, this episode may also see Matty trying a case again – the first time since Matlock Season 1, Episode 3, “A Guy Named Greg.” The episode’s photos show Matty comforting the defendant and standing beside her in the courtroom. The “No, No Monsters” promo shows the prosecutor – opposite of Matty – saying to the judge, “Don’t underestimate Miss Matlock. This woman’s a shark.”

Though Matty says, “I like that,” the previous episode, “Belly of the Beast,” puts that role into perspective for better and worse. That episode ends with Julian back on Wellbrexa, but it seems this one will see Matty prioritizing her personal Wellbrexa case. Julian is mysteriously absent from the “No, No Monsters” promotional material, so it’s easy to surmise that Matty won’t work with as much this week. Of course, it could be that Julian is absent because Matty is with Olympia in most of the photos, and Julian should (at the least) give Olympia space after telling her about his affair.
As for Matty’s undercover investigation, the “No, No Monsters” photos show her searching for an important document. It is primarily a guessing game of what that document is and what it means in Jacobson Moore’s cover-up scheme. One thing is sure: Matlock Season 1, Episode 8, “No, No Monsters,” is the show’s fall finale. New episodes don’t return until Thursday, January 30, and Matlock loves its end-of-episode twists. Since the promo reveals that Senior’s signature signing for the missing Wellbrexa documents is forged, the episode must have something much larger up its sleeve.
