Found Season 2, Episode 9 ‘Missing While Targeted’ went hard. Was it necessary to do so much in the last fifteen minutes of this episode? Because it felt like a lot! The last fifteen minutes were as if I could not breathe and found my jaw on the floor kind of shock and awe.
In other words, you did good. Really good.
We picked up right where they left us in episode 8 with Gabi in the high school. The others from M&A are at Zeke’s and Margaret, she’s off with her daughter. Now, though Trent normally makes me mad, and he did with this one, at the beginning I was like this track.
But nothing that we know about any of these characters is going to stay the same. They are all changing, but that’s a good thing. Character growth is so essential with any show and Found does that on a level that other shows don’t.
They also seem to take the last fifteen minutes of an episode and make you stop and go, well I didn’t see that coming.
Now, I admit – I am late with this review, but I forgot it was back this week. With everything going on in the world, I didn’t focus. But I am glad I got a reminder, I am glad that Found is back, and I am glad that I can review.
So let’s get into it.

THE HIGH SCHOOL VISIT
Gabi really does know Sir, but in the same breath, I wish that she didn’t. Why? Well first – she never would have been kidnapped. But the second reason is because it makes me feel like she’s somehow more involved with Sir than we know. I don’t want to think that.
It amazes me that this letter that Trent tried to keep from her, was meant for Trent and not Gabi. I feel like Gabi should have caught onto that, but the fact that she’s there and she’s confronting Sir is good for television.
However, as he was trying to convince her to leave, I was thrown. It proves that he’s working with someone, but who is that someone? I don’t have a clue. Everyone is trying to make us believe that it’s Christian, but I don’t think that’s who it is. I also don’t think that Sir originally worked with anyone, but now he does. Who do I think it is?
One possibility is that I think that it’s Ethan. He hates Gabi and it would make sense to me that he was trying to get rid of her. We don’t know enough about him, but I think in his want to maintain some sort of control over his husband, Dahn, I think that he’s willing to do anything for Gabi to not be a figure in their lives.
When Gabi was knocked out, I was shocked. She wouldn’t even leave for the answers to what happened to Margaret’s son, Jamie. Does Sir know what happened to him? I wouldn’t doubt that. But, that being said, the mystery surrounding Sir and who he is working with is a mystery I am all in for.
It takes a bit for Trent to solve the clues that Sir left in the letter, but when he does and he finds Gabi knocked out, I screamed. I screamed for him to listen to her and hear what she was saying.
But that’s the thing with those two, they don’t ever listen or hear what the other one is saying. Yes, I still love Gabi and Trent and ship them. It’s just right now, he frustrates the crap out of me.

BROKENHEARTED
I am not upset with Trent moving forward and doing whatever, whenever. I want him to leave Gabi alone until they get their lives together. I think that he’s part of the problem for Gabi. Yes, she’s got the Sir issue, work issues, etc – but she’s got the herself issue.
Yes, I said a herself issue.
Gabi is her own worst enemy. She doesn’t think about the consequences of her actions until it’s too late.
And yes, imprisoning Sir in her basement was not her finest hour. I can respect the fact she told Trent about what she did, but also she shouldn’t be surprised that he is very upset with her.
She also shouldn’t be surprised that he’s moving on.
Trent has slept with Heather Tollins, a criminal defense attorney. She’s keeping him on his toes. Though we didn’t get much of her, the little bit we got, we can’t wait to see more of her. It doesn’t matter if it’s with Trent or with someone else, we think that she’s gonna turn all their heads and make them all reconsider their actions.
She’s also our second guess for who is working with Sir. We don’t know her, but her determination, grit, and ability to suck you in and make you want to know more isn’t easy to convey.
But she does it.
And does it well.
She’s just gotta realize that she’s not gonna be around forever.

THE CLIENT
The team gets a client in Found Season 2, Episode 9 ‘Missing While Targeted’ – one that will be hard for Dahn to accept. Ian is an addict who left his house and the woman he loves. He wants to make her proud.
Now, it’s more evident to me than ever that every case is there to move the story forward in a way that gives clues to the next move. It may not be in a way we understand or like, but it’s still there. Sir has said that it’s his mission to help all the people on Gabi’s team because he knows that she won’t be able to leave if the people that she loves are still in danger.
But Gabi is still in danger. She is always in danger because of Sir’s obsession with her.
When it’s time for the press conference, Trent tells Gabi that she should hold off on it, but she refuses. She doesn’t want to hear it and he drags her in for interrogation.
As the team goes going place after place to look for Ian, following the clues, they keep coming up with dead end after dead end. Ian seems to have everything going for him – so why would he walk away from that life?
Apparently, he had fallen off the wagon just two weeks prior and his girlfriend was worried, but she knew he was worth it. People may have some issues with addicts and their recovery, but not one of us hasn’t made mistakes. Ian made mistakes.
Throughout the episode, yes, the team was looking for Ian, but every step was more about them and the way that their dynamic works. The team that is.
What killed me in Found Season 2, Episode 9 ‘Missing While Targeted’ is that Trent did everything he could to keep Gabi away from the case. But there is a reason for that. And when I saw why – I hated him even more.

TRENT YOU M’FER
When Ian was in prison, he saw a murder in prison. The guards killed someone and it seemed that with Ian keeping his mouth shut, he got out earlier than expected. However, what he saw was eating him alive and he needed to tell the truth. He needed to make his girlfriend proud.
But after a while, Gabi and the team figure out that Trent is hiding Ian. When Gabi goes to Trent and confronts him – you can tell that Trent likes having Gabi around. He doesn’t mind when she’s around – what he’s mad about is that he didn’t see what was coming from her. He didn’t see or think about the choices that she would make. He just hoped that she’d choose him.
Trent wants to be the most important person in Gabi’s life because she’s the most important person in his. The thing is though, Trent doesn’t know how to tell her that because his ego is bruised.
Yet, so is Gabi’s – if you think about it. When she sees that bra on the couch and knows that he has been with someone else – it shows that she’s hurting. Say what you want but I will die on the hill that Gabi and Trent belong together. They just have to get out of their own way.

NEVER HURT DHAN
Well, that and they have to get Sir out of the way.
Gabi and the team are at the Grand Jury to meet Ian and Trent and to be there for him. As everyone starts to walk up the steps, gunshots ring out. Dhan was shot. DHAN! Look, it’s not that we want anyone to be shot, but there are rules here and Dhan doesn’t get hurt. That’s a rule. Why did we break that rule?
I need to know.
Seeing Dhan being wheeled into the hospital, his blood on Gabi’s coat – I will admit, I cried. I cried because this is Dhan and he must always be protected. He protects everyone.
Who do I not like at this moment? Well, that would be Ethan. He tells Gabi that she can go, basically. But the way he actually phrases it is so cruel that I wanted to slap some sense into him. He should be thinking about what Dhan wants. Dhan would want Gabi there.
Ethan and his insecurities are a hard thing to watch. He is so afraid of losing Dhan, but he’s doing just that by not respecting what Dhan does. He likes helping people. He loves helping his friends. He just doesn’t know how to respect Dhan and Gabi’s relationship.
And I do think that Dhan and him aren’t going to be long-term unless there are changes.

YOUR OWN SERVICE WEAPON
Trent isn’t at the hospital but is at home. He’s drained. But even being drained, he thinks about the woman he slept with and invites her over in a few days for dinner. Via text, because hey, that’s the way that a person does it.
I knew that something was going to happen, because Trent left the key to his gun safe, right next to it. I didn’t expect Sir to show up at his house, get that weapon, and point it right at Trent.
Sir has all of the pictures of the kids that disappeared and we find out that he’d been putting them together because all of these kids disappeared in the same year, and the officer on the cases? Well, that would be Trent’s Dad.
That’s a shocker. I am not too sure why it is that Trent’s Dad didn’t see this was a serial thing. What this makes me see is that Trent is human, because this is his Dad, and we’re seeing all of the pain that is in his eyes.
Gabi shows up at Trent’s place at the end of Found Season 2, Episode 9 ‘Missing While Targeted’ but doesn’t realize that Sir is inside with Trent. We leave off with a gunshot.
I can’t take this. This is too much! My fandom heart is breaking. Who is going to live? Who is going to die?

OTHER THOUGHTS
- Gabi realizing that Sir has to be going around in an RV? Never thought of that.
- Margaret showing up for Dhan – I appreciated that about her
- Who the hell is working with Sir?
- Why is Christian suddenly missing? I don’t think that he’s the one working with Sir. Did his brother get him?
- Trent and Gabi are my endgame. I will be taking no further questions.
- Zeke getting his tech back is everything.
- Love that Lacey is going back to law school!
Found airs on Thursdays on NBC.
Gabi and Lacey: Needed Moment
Damn, ya’ll know how much I LOVE Gabi and Lacey’s sisterhood/relationship. They have my heart. Something happened last night that I’ve wanted to happen since Lacey was found and bought back home. It was the scene with Gabi and Lacey at the DCPD.
We’ve talked about, since the first episode of this season, how Gabi was wrecked with guilt because of Lacey getting taken by Sir again, and how she was just moving on autopilot, making rash decisions, going off of her emotions, and wanting to atone for the sins (she believes) she committed against not only Lacey, but all of M&A.
Gabi put herself in danger and wanted to be the one to get Sir finally and be done with him and all of the f’ed up, bull**** he has caused in her life, in Lacey’s, and everyone. Gabi could have been killed, in her quest to take down Sir.
Lacey needed to say what she did to Gabi and pour her heart, and Gabi needed to hear it.
All Gabi has known throughout her life is how to take care of people, pre kidnapping, and after her kidnapping.
We know that Lacey loves Gabi, and we know Gabi loves Lacey.
Gabi isn’t trying to hurt Lacey or anyone, she wants to stop Sir, get him, but she is so used to taking care of everyone and fixing everything for everyone, she feels like she must do everything on her own.
Gabi feels guilty that Lacey got hurt again by Sir, she is running on emotions. She needs to slow down, but her mind is just constantly running, it’s so f’ed up and sad.
Seeing Lacey get so upset at Gabi getting hurt was so sad. Gabi has been by Lacey’s side since she was 7, got the girl out of an extremely scary, and f’ed up situation. There hasn’t been a time (other than both girls going off to college respectively, and Lacey of course getting taken by Sir for a second time) where Lacey was without Gabi, so that fear of losing Gabi is real for Lacey.
I wanted a scene like this since season 2 started, and I hoped that it would be Lacey that made her feelings known to Gabi, and I’m happy that we got it.
This show is so good.
Sir is getting creepier when it comes to Gabrielle (who would have thought that possible). His hate-filled focus on Trent (note he wants to help M&A get things together so Gabi won’t worry), reflects his belief that we (I say we because I too think Gabi and Trent belong together) are correct and Trent represents the real danger to his twisted fantasy of a life with Gabrielle. Would he have even have discovered the missing boy connection were he not looking for a way to destroy Trent.
I too think Sir’s partner-in-crime has to be someone we have seen in the characters’ orbits, for the reveal to have the level of impact the show seems to be prepping us for. For me, the most obvious suspect is Ethan, but I don’t want it to be him because it would destroy Dhan. I am hoping it is Trent’s sex-buddy, the reveal might make him more compassionate towards Gabrielle, also, it moves her out of the narrative. Sir’s access to mobility, the first appearance of Lacey’s dad, the trucker, and the potential that Sir’s partner is a long-term one, and not a new connection, makes me nervous.
I know the show better stop playing in our faces when it comes to Dhan.
What if Sir is working with Trent’s dad?
