We knew it was only a matter of time before ABC capitalized and took a leap on expanding 9-1-1‘s success. Now that 9-1-1: Lonestar has ended, it made sense that ABC would want to create a new addition to the franchise. Especially one that’ll share the same home as the main show. It’s taken a year of debate over where the spin-off would take place, but we finally have an answer. ABC has just announced the straight-to-series order for the spin-off in Nashville, Tennessee titled 9-1-1: Nashville. It’ll premiere in their 2025-2026 fall season.
First, to say we’re excited for a new family of firefighters to love would be an understatement. If you’re anywhere near social media on Thursday nights, you’ll see the uproar of live reactions as fans across the country watch weekly episodes of 9-1-1. Anyone who loves network television is watching this show.
Many pieces to the puzzle make this show so beloved in its seven years of being on air. We’ll name a few in rooting for certain ships to go canon, loving the established relationships, and the found family aspect. When you mix in danger on the job, it’s undeniable to say that 9-1-1 has connected with its audiences. We’ve loved it since the beginning.

It’ll be a tough act to follow, that’s for sure. Can ABC make 9-1-1: Nashville just as successful? Only time will tell. The franchise is certainly not stopping anytime soon, with 9-1-1 crossing over with Dr. Odyssey next month, as well. Athena on a cruise again sounds like a bad idea, if you ask us.
The spin-off, written and executively produced by the franchise’s original co-creators Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear will be joined by another familiar face in 9-1-1 Lonestar‘s showrunner Rashad Raisani. We’re looking forward to seeing if they can create magic once again.
