If you’re looking for a television show that will change the way that you think about the earth and inspire your want to travel and see more of the world around you, we suggest The Americas. Narrated by Tom Hanks, the 10 part series, took over five years and took over 180 expeditions to film. It has been informative and captivating.
And unfortunately the show is almost done. But what it has done is effectively changed the way that we see the world.
The series has definitely been an education for us. There are so many eye opening moments in the series, but the biggest thing for us has been the realization that we really don’t know a lot about the animals and ecosystems that surround us.
Today we’re debuting an exclusive clip from the finale episode “Patagonia” airing this Sunday, April 13th. The clip features an adorable Darwin Rhea chick. Not be shady, but it has got us wanting to send a lot of men to watch and take note. In the clip, Tom Hanks narrates how the male Darwin’s rhea of Chile has such a strong paternal instinct that it will adopt any lost chick.
NBC’s nature documentary series “The Americas” ranks as the most-watched new alternative show of the 2024-25 season to date, averaging 4.8 million viewers for its regularly scheduled episodes. That’s an amazing statistic. People need to watch things that teach us about the world around us.
