The last glimpse at Belly’s life defined by her time at Cousins Beach is upon us with our first The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 teaser. To say we’re both excited and sad to see this show end would be an understatement. We’ve grown attached to these characters that have made us feel every possible emotion while watching teenage angst unfold. From the beginning we’ve been attached to the show’s love triangle of Belly and the Fisher brothers: Conrad and Jeremiah.
The triangle looks to be non-existent now if you remember how Season 2 ended and watched this Season 3 teaser. However, the teaser’s structure hints that nothing has changed. The love triangle is very present still. Because this teaser doesn’t look good for fans of Jeremiah and Belly.
They look to be a perfect match as a montage plays with their moments as a couple. She visits him at college and spends nights watching movies with him. Every time they see each other, Belly’s jumping into his arms in glee. It looks like Jeremiah’s treating her well. They’ve been dating for over three years since the disastrous season 2 finale. Belly chose Jeremiah to be with and broke Conrad’s heart. The teaser shows us how happy Belly seems to be with the younger Fisher brother as Taylor Swift’s ‘Daylight’ plays over sweet smooches and summer memories that any girl would squeal over.
Synopsis
It’s the end of her junior year of college, and Belly’s looking forward to another summer in Cousins with her soulmate, Jeremiah. Her future seems set, until some core shaking events bring her first love Conrad back into her life. Now on the brink of adulthood, Belly finds herself at a crossroads and must decide which brother has her heart. Summer will never be the same.

However, their love might not be forever or golden, as ‘Daylight’ suggests. Because we’ve, along with Belly, have forgotten the missing piece to this triangle until he showed up on screen in the teaser. Belly and Conrad’s ending was awfully messy because they were teenagers dealing with grief over losing Susannah. Their surprise and unplanned reunion comes after three years of not seeing the other.
Belly and Conrad’s love is one that’s raw and genuine. Their awe-stricken faces and soft eyes at seeing each other proves it. Despite the pain they made the other feel, the love is there. It’s uncertain if Conrad had been distancing himself since the 2×08 finale. But it is clear that he hasn’t seen Belly in a long time when he pops up at the end of the teaser video. It’s a moment that means to make both our and Belly’s heart stop.
Conrad disrupted Belly’s idea of a fairytale love by being distant and emotionless after his mother died. Jenny Han, you’re a genius for making Swift’s ‘Red’ Belly and Conrad’s song. He didn’t know how to handle any emotions even if the ones he felt for Belly were good. There’s an unfinished story between them that will haunt them as adults because they never got to be in love. There were always obstacles against them.
This teaser sets one thing straight: Jeremiah and Belly’s relationship thrived on Conrad’s absence. Now that he’s back, their relationship will be tested by his presence, uncovered secrets, and impulsive decisions. What happens when Belly and Conrad’s troubled hearts meet again? It’s going to be a drama filled, heart wrenching, and exciting one last summer at Cousins Beach.
