Elle Kennedy is one of those writers that when you start reading her book, you can not put it down. You start turning the pages and you find yourself entranced with the characters, the moments with them, and figuring out what comes next. The drama, the angst, and the will they or won’t they – it is next level.
She’s a guilty pleasure and we don’t even feel guilty about it.
We’re excited for her Off Campus series being adapted by Prime Video.
Ella Bright (The Crown), Belmont Cameli (Until Dawn), Mika Abdalla (The Pitt), Antonio Cipriano (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Jalen Thomas Brooks (The Pitt), Stephen Kalyn (Gen V) and Josh Heuston have all been cast in the series.
If you aren’t familiar with the Off Campus series, it is a series of 5 books – all intertwined, but all with different leads. It’s about an elite hockey team, the women that love them and the chaos that ensues in their lives. It’s about college and growing up. About becoming an adult when that’s the scariest thing to be.
WHAT IT IS ABOUT
Each of the first four novels takes on a different couple – with the first being from the book, The Deal, with Bright as Hannah and Cameli as Garrett. Lets just say that their relationship is complicated and there is a love triangle. But hey, some of our favorite things are love triangles.
The fifth novel intertwines the couples and we are definitely looking forward to that. The romances that are depicted in Kennedy’s novels are fun, exciting, and sometimes intense.
The evolving relationship between Hannah and Garrett – as showcased in The Deal – is intense. But you can’t help but love the angst that their story has. Their romance may not be something that we think is very likely, but it’s something that reading the book, kept us involved and turning the pages as fast as we could.

While we’re hoping that future seasons happen, we know that nothing is confirmed. Well, we’re thinking anyways that they have to see how the first season goes before they greenlight the subsequent seasons.
The subsequent seasons will be based off Book #2, The Mistake, Book #3, The Score and Book #4, The Goal. Antonio Cipriano will be Logan (the lead from Book #2), Jalen Thomas Brooks will be Tucker from Book #4 and Stephen Kalyn will be Dean from Book #3.
Mika Abdalla will star as Dean’s future leading lady, Allie.
We’ve said it before and will say it again – it’s because of Temple Hill’s Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen being on the project that we have faith. These guys know how to adapt a book.
While there is so much to be said for these books, we’re always nervous when we like a book and the adaptation comes around. How about you?
