I have to admit, I am mad. I am really, really mad. Why? Because the cancellation of Found is a travesty of television justice. The cancellation of Found, plus that ending that we were left with, makes me angry
Once again, someone, somewhere in a suit doesn’t get their audience. They don’t understand the reasons that if you are handing the viewer a cancellation, that a viewer needs some answers. They need things to be wrapped up.
The viewer doesn’t need an ending that leaves more questions. But with Found, that is exactly what it did. So many questions, so many emotions, and a confession that never should have happened.
So here I am – left just angry and annoyed at Found. The reality is that my anger should be placed on whomever signed the cancellation notice. That person owes us answers.
Founds series finale wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. It was if it said lets tie things up, but also leave your with an ending that just opened up new storylines. Finally we’ve tied up the Sir storyline (thank the heavens), but we’ve left it open to so many possibilities of what is going to happen with M&A.
The joy of this final episode was that we got to finally understand Dhan. We also finally got to see Margaret grow and take control. The entire the team is changing and who would have thought that Jamie would be the one that gets them to find themselves.
Not this writer.
And yet, it’s also difficult to care, because as everything unfolds, what we’re left with is a cliffhanger and no answers. A lot of people would say that the writers left it open to interpretation, but I would say that is wrong.
That they just wanted to leave it open to us – the viewer? No. No way. There were too many twists and turns. There were too many revelations. The fact that Jamie was able to get the jump on Lena, Sir having this all happen because he wanted to, Margaret putting her ex in his place… it was a lot.
Dhan being the one though that we got the final story about. Well, I will give credit for that. The writers hearing the viewers say that we wanted to learn more about Zeke and Dhan – it meant something.
Dhan having to work on a case that brought him face to face with the man that he blames for getting them taken? I thought he was going to kill him when he walked into the room. But who Dhan is – well, we all knew that he would never leave anyone missing.
Especially someone who is pregnant and dying.
Gabi tells Dhan to find the missing and she’ll take finding Jamie. I think that it’s definitely hard for him – that he can’t be there for her. He wants to be everywhere and his loyalty to Gabi is a beautiful thing.
One thing that I took issue with was that even though we got to see this side of Dhan, what was missing in the finale was Ethan. Dhan didn’t even have the love of his life with him and that just made me really disappointed. As Dhan is healing one part of his life, I feel like it would have been something that would have propelled other parts of his life forward. Not being able to see that was a travesty.
Yet, over the past three episodes, that is what we have seen a lot of – Dhans growth. So, I take it, I run with it, and I appreciate it. I don’t appreciate that we didn’t get that with Zeke.
Gabi figuring out all of the clues that Sir has left and going to see him was not a shocker. Her having the upper hand on Lena was a good thing and that I loved. What I didn’t love was the ending and Gabi admitting what she had done.
She got Lena arrested and that was great. But when Jamie is due to give his press conference and Gabi is up there making it about her. About what she did. Yes, Jamie was saved and he said that secrets keep you hidden or something – but some secrets you shut up and keep. There was no need for Gabi to admit what she’d done.
It was stupid.
It also shows a lack of respect for all of those who have tried to keep her safe, no matter what. She’s selfish in this respect.
And it doesn’t matter – because we’ll never know more. Cancellation and all.
Leaving this episode with the way that it was – Gabi’s confession, Sir bleeding out on the floor, Jamie found, Margaret finding strength – I just can’t. I feel cheated.
And therefore, I will give this episode a 3 out of 5 stars.
OTHER THOUGHTS
- Margaret telling Carrie off – LOVED THAT
- Margarets ex is a B****
- Jamie is tolerable all of a sudden
- The way Jamie changed while Lena was holding him hostage was weird, but whatever.
- Everyone being okay with Gabi giving into Lena’s demands? I hate it when people are all like “yes, do that” when they don’t mean it.
- Don’t even wanna talk about Sir, but I am not sad that he may be gone
