With cancellations this season, we have room in our schedule to take on some new television shows. We don’t know which ones we will be watching, but that is part of the fun of this. We spend time looking at television shows – their premise, their casting, and the possibility of it lasting. Cause yes, we don’t want to become invested and a cancellation happen really quickly.
That is never fun.
We have to admit, that we are a little hesitant about Sheriff Country. Why? Well because it is a spin off of Fire Country, and right now we’re angry over them ruining our ship (IYKYK). We know, we know – the writers have ideas that we don’t know yet, Maybe it all plays into the story and it’ll all work out.
But, with cancellations happening all the time – call us skeptics. We don’t believe in much.
Sheriff Country has us interested though – because of its casting. Amanda Arcuri (Degrassi: The Next Generation, Watson) and Caroline Rhea (Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Phineas and Ferb) have joined the show. Arcuri we aren’t really familiar with, but Rhea, definitely we know. Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, is iconic after all.
Sheriff Country is led by Morena Baccarin. Baccarin is someone we are definitely familiar with – mostly because of her relationship with Ben Mackenzie. What can we say, relationship drama in the tabloids, sometimes introduces us to someone and makes us pay attention.
Now, we know that we can only think of Caroline Rhea in Sabrina and that’s not fair. But here we are.
Rhea is going to play a character named Gina. She’s deadpan, efficient, and she speaks the truth to Mickey (the sheriff) no matter what. She’s also her assistant and has a colorful past. We’re definitely interested to see how this plays out.
Arcuri is Mickey’s daughter. Her name is Skye, who is smart and troubled. She’s sober – 4 months – and is self sabotaging. She’s drawn to some dude who endangers her sobriety. Recovery is hard, but she’s fighting hard to rebuild her life.
Sheriff Country is all about Mickey Fox. If you watch Fire Country – you know who Sharon Leone is. Mickey is her stepsister. She investigates criminal activity in Edgewater. Crime does happen in small towns. She’s patrolling the streets of Edgewater, dealing with family, and is contending with her ex-con father and an incident involving her daughter.
