If there is one prequel that we’re looking forward to, it would be the Legally Blonde one. Elle Woods is pure inspiration.
With the prequel coming and Lexi Minetree taking on the role of a young Elle Woods, and she’s very excited to take on the role. She’s figuring out how to play the character and honor the original Elle Wood played by Reese Witherspoon.
“There is not a better character that I could be playing that’s healthy for my psyche to be in,” Minetree shared with People. “I’m like, ‘Oh, an optimist who believes in herself, hmm-mm, yeah.’ I think I will go method for this role and just believe in myself and just say, ‘You know what? I’m bringing Lexi’s take onto this role and following in the footsteps of what Reese has already created.'”
“Such an amazing character,” she continues.
Minetree also spoke a little about the wardrobe choices for a young Elle.
“I think right now they have me in a little bit of pink, I’ll tell you that much,” newcomer Minetree shares with PEOPLE. “But they’ve picked out amazing pieces. Every outfit the costume designer has chosen is true vintage, and it just is such a great homage to that time period.”
