Believe it or not, we love country music. There is nothing better than music that really touches your soul and keeps you alive. Because that’s what music does, it fills the pieces of you that may be missing and reminds you of the pieces of you that are yet to come alive.
Kane Brown is one of those musicians who speaks to me. His music is fun, enticing, and he will sell you on it because he’s a family man. His dedication and love for his wife and kids are top-tier. It’s why we’ll support him and why we’re excited to watch his transition into acting.
The star will make his film debut opposite Taylor Lautner in The Token Groomsman, a new romantic comedy from director Natalie Simpkins.
In the movie, Lautner plays Scott. Scott’s been invited to be a groomsman at a luxury destination wedding. Now, the issue is that he doesn’t remember the groom. So why would he say yes to being a groomsman is beyond me. Except there is that whole thing about making connections, and hey, when you’ve hit rock bottom, those connections can pull you out.
When he flies to Italy for the wedding, he’s planning on blending in and getting out. The issue – he’s got sparks with the groom’s sister Mia, and has to decide between closing the deal or love.
Kane Brown has been cast as Neil, the best friend to Scott. Neil’s a ride-or-die moral compass to Neil. Neil sounds like the bestie that we all need.
Director Simpkins said of Browns’ casting, “We knew we needed bold, lovable personalities to match the heart and humor of this story. Kane brings something so unique. He has a rare mix of vulnerability and magnetism that’s incredibly compelling.”
Based on a story by John C. Hall, director Simpkins co-wrote the screenplay with Hall and Sohale Andrus Mortazavi.
