Sometimes you need a break. Everyone needs a break. Sometimes we don’t know what we need, but we find our way. Mindy Kaling has found what she needed to take a break.
It’s been working behind the scenes. The superstar has been working hard behind the scenes, writing, producing, and directing TV shows. These television shows have been iconic – Never Have I Ever, The Sex Lives of College Girls, and Running Point, to name a few.
The actress was on a Paley Center panel and spoke about her original goal, “if I could just be a staff writer on even a terrible show, even if I could just be in the WGA and have health insurance and live in Los Angeles, I would be happy for the rest of my life.”
Like all goals, things change. She runs and owns Kaling International, which she has kept small but mighty. With so many amazing shows, though, you would think that she would use her mightiness and guest star on some of these shows that she creates.
She joked about it, saying, “Never Have I Ever, a show literally about an Indian American family in Southern California, and if I wasn’t on that — what’s wrong with me? I think there is a part of me that feels a little superstitious. I’m like, these seem to have gone well, and I’m not in them, so maybe I’ll wait.”
She then added, “I miss it, and I would like to write or co-create a show for me to act in soon.”
We do miss Mindy acting, and we are hoping that she does create something for herself soon. We miss her on our screens.
