NBC’s most ambitious medical drama is gearing up for its return! Brilliant Minds Season 2 is set to premiere this September, and two exciting new cast additions have just been announced. According to Deadline, Brian Altemus and John Clarence Stewart will be joining the series as regulars — and their characters are about to shake things up at the hospital… and in our hearts.
Brian Altemus takes on the role of Dr. Charlie Porter, a neurology resident with a competitive streak and a perfectly calculated haircut. Charlie sees medicine not as a calling, but as a sport to be won — and he’s not here to make friends. Guarded, ambitious, and hiding more secrets than open case files, Charlie is bound to disrupt the existing hospital hierarchy. Rival? Ally? Something more complicated? One thing’s certain: Brian Altemus won’t go unnoticed this season.
Meanwhile, John Clarence Stewart will portray Dr. Anthony Thorne, a mid-career ER doctor who’s grown a bit too comfortable with the idea that emergency medicine is blue-collar work. Thorne believes helping a little for all is better than doing the most for a few — a philosophy that puts him on a collision course with Dr. Wolf. With his laid-back vibe, disarming sarcasm, and a habit of saying what no one else will, Thorne is here to stir things up. And with Stewart in the role, there’s no doubt he’ll do it with style.
