The Love Hypothesis Adaptation Sets Its Leads

When it comes to books that we can’t wait to see come to life, The Love Hypothesis, by Ali Hazelwood, would be at the top of that list. Ok, in the top five, but it’s still towards the top.

This week, the leads in the adaptation we announced, and we’re admitting, we’re kind of on the fence, but excited.

One can never go wrong with Lili Reinhart as the lead. The actress did the cutest announcement on her TikTok. Two videos that had us smiling from ear to ear.

And the second video had us squealing with excitement! What a line to highlight.

Her announcement was enough to have us sat. Lili as Olive – we didn’t think that it could get any better. But then came the next part. Prime asked us to hold their book as they announced that Tom Bateman would be taking on the role of Dr. Adam Carlsen. Carlsen is a tyrant, and no one really likes him. Olive and Adam go into a fake relationship, and their theories on love get thrown into all of the chaos.

Bateman being announced was diabolical casting, and if you know fandom, well, you know why. BUT, we’re living for that. If you don’t know what we’re talking about, we found a TikTok that explains it.

But all that matters to us is that the movie is being made. The book was printed in 2021 by Berkley, an imprint of Penguin Random House. Hazelwood’s novel spent 10 months on the New York Times bestseller list. It was also the Book Of The Year from Amazon.

Claire Scanlon is directing the adaptation of the book. The Love Hypothesis is from a script by Sarah Rothschild. Elizabeth Cantillon is producing, with Reinhart, Catherine Hagedorn, and Hazelwood executive producing.
