Anne Hathaway has always chosen roles that make us stop and watch whatever she does. The original The Devil Wears Prada is a movie that, every time it comes to our television screens, we stop to watch. Yes, it’s partly cause of Meryl Streep and of course Stanley Tucci, but a lot of it is Andy Sachs.
Andy, as we all know, is played by Anne Hathaway. She took the job at Runway magazine working as Miranda Priestly’s assistant. Through a lot of twists and turns, she realizes just how demanding being an assistant is. She changes, and everyone around her notices. Andy finds her voice, her strength, and just who she wants to be. At the very least, who she doesn’t want to be.
At least that is this writer’s take on it.
We know that the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada has started filming, and 20th Century Studios released the first look at Andy Sachs.

Though no one really knows all of the plot of the sequel, it has been reported that it will focus on “Priestly, still the head of Runway, contending with the headwinds of publishing, with the magazine now in a diminished state. Blunt’s one-time assistant will now be an executive at a luxury brand conglomerate that advertises with Runway.”

Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are set to return for the sequel. Joining the cast is Kenneth Branagh, who will star as Miranda Priestly’s husband.
