One of the only shows that we knew that we loved from the first episode last year was Doc. We were confused – by a lot of it – but we let the story unfold, and we knew that it was going to be a show that we would not be able to get out of our heads.
Luckily, we’ve now got a date for its return, which means that if you didn’t watch it, you have plenty of time to catch up. Fox announced that the show will return on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 9/8c.
And suddenly, as a person who reviews FBI and DOC, I am thankful the days have gotten split up. Two in a night – I am not that strong.
In addition to the release date, FOX has released a teaser trailer –
We’re happy that in the teaser, we get our first look at Felicity Huffman, who has joined the cast for its second season. She will be playing Dr. Joan Ridley, who is Dr. Amy Larsen’s mentor. Huffman will be the Chief of Internal Medicine.
If you aren’t familiar with Doc, it is about, “a brain injury erases the last eight years of Dr. Amy Larsen’s life, she must navigate an unfamiliar world where she has no recollection of patients she’s treated, colleagues she’s crossed, the soulmate she divorced, the man she now loves or the tragedy that caused her to push everyone away. She can rely only on her estranged 17-year-old daughter, whom she remembers as a 9-year-old, and a handful of devoted friends, as she struggles to continue practicing medicine, despite having lost nearly a decade of knowledge and experience.”
The second season of DOC received a supersized order and is set to have 22 episodes. DOC returns in September and will air on Fox.
