If you’ve been patiently counting the days since Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David’s final off-screen reunion, your wait is nearly over. NCIS: Tony & Ziva, the upcoming Paramount+ spinoff that fans have dreamed about for over a decade, is officially premiering in Fall 2025—and everything about it is sending the fandom into overdrive.
Reuniting Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo in an action-packed, emotional chase across Europe, the series promises espionage, romance, and the family dynamics we’ve been craving since we first learned these two had a child.
NCIS: Tony & Ziva will follow the couple and their tween daughter Tali (played by The Outlaws‘ Isla Gie), who have been living a quiet life in Paris, until Tony’s security firm is attacked.
What exactly is the plot of NCIS: Tony & Ziva?
We’ve got a synopsis! It reads: “NCIS: TONY & ZIVA picks up after Ziva’s supposed death when Tony left the NCIS team to go raise their daughter. Years later, Ziva was discovered alive, leading her to complete one final mission with NCIS before she was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. Since then – and where we find them in NCIS: TONY & ZIVA – Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter, Tali, together. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after.”
Why are people excited for NCIS: Tony & Ziva?
This has been a long time coming. NCIS and the franchise at large have given fans many iconic ships, but not one of them has as much UST (unresolved sexual tension) as Tiva, aka Tony and Ziva. And considering they have a daughter, that tension isn’t exactly unresolved, but since fans didn’t get to see any of the, ahem, resolution, it’s fair to treat it as if it’s still unresolved.
All of that changes with this 10-episode, serialized thriller helmed by The Magicians co-creator John McNamara.
“I’m excited to tell a single, serialized story of intrigue and espionage over 10 episodes, getting the chance to delve more deeply into Tony and Ziva’s complex relationship,” McNamara told Deadline.
Filmed across numerous locations that go from Budapest to the Canary Islands, without forgetting Paris, the show promises all the drama and emotional stakes fans of NCIS have become used to. Cote de Pablo teased that fans should expect “intrigue, romance, the background of Europe, impossible situations,” with “a little something about love” thrown in for good measure. If that doesn’t scream must-watch, we don’t know what does.

Meet the cast that’s taking the NCIS franchise global
Alongside the return of Tony, Ziva, and Tali, NCIS: Tony & Ziva introduces an impressive new supporting cast. Lara Rossi plays Sophie, Tali’s SAS-trained nanny, while Shadow and Bone’s Amita Suman stars as Claudette, the sharp CTO at Tony’s company.

Maximilian Osinski (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) is Boris, a mysterious Russian hacker, and James D’Arcy (Agent Carter) will star as Henry, an Interpol officer with his secrets.
NCIS: Tony & Ziva is also deeply rooted in the aftermath of NCIS’ most emotional arcs, with Weatherly saying, “These characters are on the adventure of a lifetime. And hopefully, so is the viewer.”
And just in case you’re wondering—this is no one-off special. The show was always envisioned for streaming, per CBS Studios president David Stapf, who emphasized Paramount+’s global reach and fans’ endless love for the Tiva arc. But that doesn’t mean a second season is out of the question.

What do you need to know before the show?
We put together a handy list of Tiva scenes you might need to watch before the show, but CBS was also kind enough to upload what is basically a compilation video of scenes from Ziva’s last NCIS episode. Will we find Ziva in this same frame of mind when NCIS: Tony & Ziva begins? We will have to wait and see.
Are there any pictures for NCIS: Tony & Ziva?
Yes, there are! Here they are:

When will NCIS: Tony & Ziva premiere?
We have a premiere date! The series will premiere with 3 episodes on September 4, with episodes releasing weekly until the finale on October 23.
“We’re beyond excited to finally share Tony and Ziva’s next chapter with the incredible fans around the world who never stopped believing this day would come,” stars and executive producers Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly said. “Returning to these roles together on screen after more than a decade has been an unforgettable journey packed with lies, spies, danger, desire…..and self-driving murder cars. (Don’t worry, that last one will make sense soon). This is one wild ride you won’t want to miss, and as they say in Paris: Accrochez-vous bien!“
Here’s our first extended look at Tony, Ziva, and Tali
And, there’s a trailer too!
And this trailer is really bringing the NCISverse together, starting with a little intro that gives us a glimpse of characters from other NCIS shows, and leads into a jam-packed two minutes that start with Tali asking her parents: “Are you two getting back together?”
We want to know too.
I would have liked the poster with ziva and tony looking at each other.
