MORE: Fallout Season 1 Review: Maybe All You Can Do Is Try
Season 1 of Fallout ended with Purnell’s Lucy finding out the true extent of her fathers actions when it comes to the world they live in today but also what happened to her mother. Recognizing that he had lost his daughter and wanting to escape the wrath of The Ghoul, played by Walton Goggins, her father escapes. That’s when things change drastically on the show as Lucy agrees to travel with The Ghoul to find out the truth.
Season 2 of Fallout will see Lucy and The Ghoul travel across the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas. And from the first-look images we also got today, here are our unfiltered thoughts and theories about Season 2:
- The people who ship Lucy and The Ghoul are going to get fed. Because what is this photo of them standing close in the middle of this wasteland? Just look at her standing tall and proud and him with his jacket billowing. Kind of romantic…
- Also, is Lucy giving The Ghoul a gentle look in that one pic?
- But real talk, Lucy has a big heart. But she’s faced some harsh truths now. My hope is that keeps that big heart. That will keep her grounded more than anything.
- But could that big heart and traveling with The Ghoul change her view of him? Same thing for him too.
- Look, I don’t ship it. But I can see why people would ship it. Just saying.
- Overseer Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan), aka Lucy’s father, isn’t going to go down easy. He’s surrounding himself with soldiers wearing power armor. And if we learned anything from Aaron Moten’s Maximus is that the Overseers want loyalty. And through that training they go through, they certainly get it.
- While Lucy is off having an adventure with The Ghoul, her brother Norm (Moises Arias) seems to be taking a more commanding role. His stance says it all.
- Same thing could be said for Maximus, who looks more comfortable with who he is if we take into consideration his body language as he’s walking around other suited soldiers. Maximus was trying to be someone he wasn’t in Season 1. And when he finally started being himself, he flourished. Here’s hoping he continues to flourish and teach the others what he’s learned.
- Also, I know I talked about Lucy and The Ghoul above. But I’m really excited to see who Lucy and Maximus will be the next time they see each other. They’ll both be so different. But I think they’ll still fit.
- Then there’s The Ghoul. His photos as Cooper Howard confirm that we’re going to continue seeing flashbacks of what happened before the apocalypse. But it also confirms that we’re going to see him in a different kind of Vegas and that he’ll still find himself conflicted over everything he’s learned about what his wife Barb Howard (Frances Turner) is doing.
- Let’s not forget the poster too. It makes it clear who the central focus of Season 2 will be about: Lucy, The Ghoul, and Maximus.
