If you ask the people we know, People We Meet On Vacation, will be on the top of their list for movies they can’t wait to see. It’s definitely in our Top 5. We don’t think you can blame us with this cast, especially the leads. Emily Bader and Tom Blyth are perfection and yes, we can tell that based on these pictures.
In addition to Blyth and Bader, the cast stars Sarah Catherine Hook, Lucien Laviscount, Miles Heizer, Jameela Jamil, Tommy Do, Lukas Gage, Alice Lee, with Molly Shannon and Alan Ruck.
The movie is based off a book with the same title by Emily Henry. Its synopsis, “Free-spirited Poppy and routine-loving Alex have been unlikely best friends for a decade, living in different cities but spending every summer vacation together. The careful balance of their friendship is put to the test when they begin to question what has been obvious to everyone else — could they actually be the perfect romantic match?”
What sold us – besides the leads – was a quote from director Brett Haley in Tudum, “This is a movie that doesn’t just tell a love story. It makes you feel like you’ve gone on vacation right alongside Poppy and Alex.”
It makes us excited that the movie will feel that personal, because the book did. It excited us, and made us want to see the movie now. We loved the characters in the book and felt as though they were our friends.
