Since we’ve been 9-1-1 fans, we can’t look at first responders the same way. And the phrase, “9-1-1, what’s your emergency?” will always hold a special meaning for us. That’s why we’re excited for the show’s upcoming spin-off, AKA 9-1-1: Nashville. The series is about to premiere, and the first details are already being revealed. Here’s everything we know.
9-1-1: Nashville stars Chris O’Donnell, whom we’re already fans of from his time on NCIS: Los Angeles—and you should too. If not, what are you doing if you haven’t seen that show yet? O’Donnell plays Captain Don Hart. According to the official character description, Don is “a rugged fire captain and rodeo rider who runs Nashville’s busiest firehouse. Don is a devoted husband and family man, but he has his secrets.”
In addition to O’Donnell, the cast includes Jessica Capshaw as Blythe Hart, Don’s wife and mother of his son Ryan, played by Michael Provost. Father and son will share the same firehouse, so we already see some family conflicts coming. Fortunately, Don and Ryan won’t be alone at the firehouse.
They will also be joined by Taylor Thompson, played by Hailey Kilgore, Roxie Alba, played by Juani Feliz, and Blue Bennings, played by Hunter McVey. They may be a family “formed by fire,” but they won’t be the only ones. Kimberly Williams-Paisley will play Cammie Raleigh, Blythe’s sister-in-law. LeAnn Rimes will also have a role in the show as Dixie Bennings, Blue’s mother.
As for the behind-the-scenes crew, 9-1-1: Nashville is produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television. Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani will serve as executive producers and writers, with Chris O’Donnell, Brad Buecker, Brad Falchuk, and the Queen Angela Bassett also executive producing. Raisani serves as showrunner.
