There’s a lot we want out of 9-1-1 Season 9. The first episode of the season, titled ‘Eat the Rich’ doesn’t seem to be giving us much of that. Like, instead of bringing Bobby Nash back, it’s giving us a memorial for him and an Elon Musk-type figure who ends up gifting Hen a trip to space. I know we said the show should be ready to try new things, but I’m not sure anyone actually meant space exploration.
But, here we are, anyway. Not because we want to see Hen and Athena go to space, or see a man swallowed whole by a whale, but because we want to see Eddie jump into the ocean to save said man. We want to see Karen say hell no to going to space because of who the man behind it is. We want to see how May and Harry are dealing with Bobby’s loss. We want to see what teenage Christopher is into. And we want to see what the new Captain (Chimney) will be like. We want to experience these characters go through these things. We’re attached, at this point.
