Sometimes people make me laugh because the audacity that they have is unfathomable to me. Then again, having watched a lot of interviews, I was not shocked that Taylor Swift was asked a really inappropriate question.
Swift was on BBC Radio 2, and was asked if after she marries Travis Kelce she will stop making music.
Honestly, I had to laugh at the audacity. Just because a woman gets married doesn’t mean that she has to give up her career, so asking about that feels wrong. But she was asked, “Don’t tell me this is your last album?”
“What? No,” she answered.
“I just saw some fans going, ‘Well, she’s going to get married, and then she’s going to have children and then…” he tried to explain to her. Well, just gonna interrupt here and say even if you see it doesn’t mean that you have to talk about it.
“That’s a shockingly offensive thing to say,” Swift responded, “It’s not why people get married, so they can quit their job….they love to panic sometimes. It’s like, I love the person that I am with because he loves what I do, and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music.”
And then continued, “That’s the coolest thing about Travis, like he’s so passionate about what he does that me being passionate about what I do, it connects us. There’s no point in time where he’s gonna be like, ‘I’m really upset that you’re still making music.’ ‘The music that I signed up for, that I knew you love, I thought you were going to stop doing that.”
