Charles, Oliver, and Mabel will return to solve another murder as Hulu has renewed Only Murders in the Building for Season 6. This news comes on the heels of its current season’s finale – Only Murders in the Building Season 5, Episode 10, “The House Always…,” which is streaming now. The 10-episode fifth season kicked off with a three-episode premiere in September.
It sees Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short), and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez) try to discover who murdered the Arconia’s beloved doorman, Lester. The season finale reveals the murderer and saves the building from being turned into a Casino.
“The House Always…” also sets up the trio’s next case – the death of Cinda Canning, played by Tina Fey. The true crime podcast host hasn’t appeared since Only Murders in the Building Season 3, Episode 4, “The White Room,” in 2023. Before that, Fey’s character recurred in the first two seasons. The fifth season’s finale shows Charles, Oliver, and Mabel listening to Cinda’s latest podcast, “The Girl with the Curls.” Cinda’s voiceover reveals that the girl is accused of murdering a royal descendant in London.

What Is Season 6 About?
In the episode’s closing seconds, the trio discovers that Cinda may also be the subject of her latest venture. Howard (Michael Cyril Creighton), an Arconia resident, stands with others around the red-headed woman’s body as Howard and the trio debate whether or not this death can be the subject of their podcast. After all, it is “Only Murders in the Building.”
In a last gasp, the woman reaches out for the Arconia’s gate. By doing so, she makes herself the victim in their next murder investigation. As she turns, it is revealed that “The Girl with the Curls” is Cinda Canning.
The press release for Only Murder in the Building Season 6 reveals that “the beloved crime-solving trio” will leave New York City “to investigate London’s newest mystery.” This logline confirms Deadline’s report from earlier this week. There’s no word on who will return for the 10-episode season alongside Martin, Short, and Gomez. However, the sixth season won’t be the first time that the trio has taken their investigation beyond New York. This season, the trio spends an episode in Connecticut. Only Murders in the Building Season 4 follows the trio to Los Angeles for a movie deal and to uncover the truth about Charles’s stunt double and friend Sazz Pataki’s (Jane Lynch) murder.
Only Murders in the Building Season 5 features special guest stars Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Richard Kind, and Nathan Lane. Bobby Cannavale, Renée Zellweger, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, Téa Leoni, Keegan-Michael Key, Beanie Feldstein, Dianne Wiest, Jermaine Fowler, and more also guest star. The series comes from co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman. They executive produce along with Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, Ben Smith, and JJ Philbin. 20th Television, a part of Disney Television, produces.
