We’re on episode three of Finding Mr. Christmas, and I have to admit, I am both intrigued and also wondering about who will be Mr. Christmas. The truth is – I have no idea who will be the winner, because each week, something changes and the person that I thought would win doesn’t. Episode 3 of Finding Mr. Christmas was a lot of feelings and a lot of nope – not for us.
Hashtag afraid of horses.
The thing about this episode of Finding Mr. Christmas for me was that I got to see someone whom I have admired for years. Breanne Heldman is someone I met way back in the days of Next Movie and Twilight. She’s helped shape fandom across the board for years.
So seeing her on the screen made me smile, because I know how hard she’s worked and how much she loves Hallmark.
The funny thing about this episode is that you can see some of the guys have gotten a little bit of an ego, which I am sure happens. Some of them, though, I wish that they would stop and take a moment and really just be in the moment. I think that all of them are searching for a way to belong, but then again, aren’t we all?
The strength of Finding Mr. Christmas is in the way that Jonathan Bennett leads and Melissa Peterman’s sense of humor. I have yet to see this season anyone of the men who stand out and make me think that they could be a leading man.
But one person who did affect me this episode was Robbie. The festive challenge had them all building gingerbread houses that told a story. His was a schoolhouse and it all has to do with how his drama teacher had a big effect on his life. He taught him who he wanted to be.
But his drama teacher also had a husband, and that showed him how relationships could be. I cried as he explained, and was thankful that he had someone in his life to show him that he is and was enough. I adore Robbie, and I adore his willingness to be open to the world around him.
The Star Quality challenge had the men acting opposite Ali Sweeney while on a horse. Half of the men said that they had never ridden a horse, so it was really interesting to see how well they did on the horses. All of them tried and gave their best, but nerves got the best of them all.
Marcus won that challenge, and I was really proud of him for that. He feels like he’s become more comfortable, and that’s all you can hope for with any of the men on this show. Yes, I was happy that Craig got knocked down a peg.
Logan was eliminated this week, and I don’t think that any of us can be shocked by that. His nerves got the best of him (anxiety is horrible), and unfortunately, that meant he didn’t give his best performance.
While this episode wasn’t my favorite, it definitely allowed us to see a different side to all of the men on the show. Where Finding Mr. Christmas goes next – we’ll all have to wait and see.
But with Jonathan Bennett and Melissa Peterman leading the way, we’ll be watching.
