When it comes to Vertical Series, I feel like I am watching a movie. One where I may be a little crazy because they play the last few seconds of the episode right before and so that does ruin the “movie” vibe, but here we are. Now, you’re asking yourself why it is that I am bringing that up? Well, it’s because in Sweet Wild Bride of Mine I truly despised that they did this because I DID NOT want to hear Eliza in her whiny voice.
Eliza is played by Kirby Elwood, who I happen to love. I think she’s a really talented actress and I truly have loved most characters that she has played. This one – as soon as Eliza lost her memory and reverted to being child like – I wanted to say he** no and turn it off.
AND THEN there was the Justin, played by Christopher Quartuccio. Now, I think that Quartuccio is a good actor, but I was so frustrated with the character faking he was in a wheelchair and the fact that he married Eliza when she’s acting like a child – creeped me out (a lot).
But I know this is supposed to be like a soap opera and so the craziest, wildest things are supposed to be happening. This is a vertical, so I do expect that. However, some of the things that they do are insane and as a person whose brain works more in logic, I am just always really confused by how insane that these shows can be.
And then I get over judging them, because I do love verticals and so therefore I fall into judging myself. I do enough of that – so I don’t need to be pressured into doing that more. And am I going to stop watching them? No. I need an escape from life and these give that to me.
I could be addicted to worse things.
Sweet Wild Bride of Mine was bat s*** cray.
Elizas family is selfish and after her money. She’s being told to sign the company over to her stepbrother. When she refuses, her stepbrother knocks her out and she forgets who she is.
Waking up she’s after food and eating food straight off the road. Justin ends up being the one that helps her and takes her home. He’s also rich – so you know – match made. He takes her childish ways as cute and sweet. So when the pressure is on him to get married, he decides to ask her.
Justin is in a wheel chair and can walk – but only those closest to him know that. He’s trying to make sure that he finds out some stuff on his family and gets the company. Mad respect for getting his family to show their true colors. That is exhausting.
Both Eliza and Justins family are crazy. Justins family doesn’t like Eliza and when they try to get him to not be with her – well, he gives no f***s and TBH, we can appreciate that. Stand up for your girl.
Eliza’s memory returns, but she doesn’t tell Justin. She wants to make sure that she takes her family down, but also does nothing to make Justins life every harder. She really fell for him.
The thing that I did love about this vertical is that Justin and Eliza’s loyalty to each other. It was just as if it was instant that they would protect each other. I loved that it wasn’t a love triangle. Instead, it was two people fighting for what they believe in.
Eliza was able to convince the board of her company to back her and keep the secret that she was still alive. Justin and her were able to also secure him getting the CEO position at his families company.
I think the lesson is that you really have to pay attention to what your family is doing – especially if they are billionaires. Money changes people. Their want for money will make them do crazy things.
In reality there was A LOT wrong with this vertical. The way that everyone kept calling Justin a cripple and saying he couldn’t lead for that. The way that Eliza didn’t get any help, but people kept calling her crazy and putting her down. The family trying to murder people for money. It was A LOT.
This vertical may not be for everyone but it’s saving grace is that Kirby Elwood and Christopher Quartuccio have a lot of chemistry. So much so that you get lost in the way they work together and start to trust each other.
Sweet Wild Bride of Mine is one to watch for yourself. For me – it was just all over the place and I have definitely seen better. But hey, Kirby Elwood and Christopher Quartuccio – I’d watch again because of you two.
