After 15 years, the Jonas Brothers are back as Connect 3 in the first teaser for Camp Rock 3. This movie has been one that fans have anticipated for a while. Rumors swirled for months before the Jonas Brothers reunited on stage with Demi Lovato on the first night of their Greetings from Your Hometown Tour in August. For the first time in a decade, they sang “This Is Me” from Camp Rock and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing” from Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam together.
By September, Disney+ announced that Camp Rock 3 had begun production in Vancouver. Also, Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas & Demi Lovato would executive produce the project. The Jonas Brothers confirmed they would return as Shane Gray, Nate Gray, and Jason Gray, respectively, in guest-starring roles. Meanwhile, Lovato seemingly later confirmed that she would only return in a producing role. Lovato not reprising her role as Mitchie Torres is interesting. She is one of the leads of the other two films. Not to mention, Maria Canals-Barrera, who played Mitchie’s mom in the first two films, is returning as Connie.

What Is Camp Rock 3 About?
So far, they are the only Camp Rock stars reprising their roles for the threequel that is set to stream next summer. The teaser introduces a new generation of campers: Liamani Segura as the “bold and determined” Sage, Hudson Stone as “her easygoing brother” Desi, Malachi Barton as “camp bad boy” Fletch, Lumi Pollack as “cello prodigy” Rosie, and Casey Trotter as “drummer with his own beat” Cliff. They will be joined by Brooklynn Pitts as “choreo queen” Callie, Ava Jean as “intimidating influencer” Madison, and Sherry Cola as Lark.
Conversations around the reason for Camp Rock 3 have stirred up online. Joe Jonas cheekily replied to one, “God forbid connect 3 go back to where connect 3 connected.” The teaser, set to “Wouldn’t Change a Thing,” has a montage of memories from the first two movies. (Mitchie’s song notebook is different from the original movie.) It also features the band reconnecting. Nick Jonas, as Nate, fittingly says, “Music, friendship, memories.” Joe Jonas, as Shane, continues with, “We’re back. Exactly where we’re supposed to be.” It wraps up with Kevin Jonas as Jason continuing one of the franchise’s long-running bits: “Still no birdhouse.”
The new movie, written by Eydie Faye and directed by Veronica Rodriguez, picks up with Connect 3 returning to the camp to discover the next big thing after losing the opening act for their reunion tour. “As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise, and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations, and romances,” the description reads.
Camp Rock 3 features choreography by Jamal Sims. Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman, Gary Marsh, and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ Tim Federle also executive produce, with a special thanks to Alan Sacks.
