We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Best Scene of the Week

Raquel: Chenford reconciliation and make-up sex in The Rookie! It was beautiful and felt earned. As I mentioned in my review, there will surely still be difficult conversations to come, but now they know how to communicate. And that makes all the difference.
Shana: What I want is to declare The Pitt season premiere to be one long scene and have my answer to this question be, essentially, “the whole hour.” I know that’s not how that works, though. So, in the interest of actually following the rules while still knowing that there are many exceptional scenes there, I think I’m going to have to go with Dr. Langdon’s confession to Louie.
It’s beautifully acted by Patrick Ball and Ernest Harden Jr., and there’s a lot going on there from an addiction recovery standpoint that I really appreciated seeing play out onscreen. It’s a constant process that Frank’s going to have to cycle through, admitting wrongdoing and trying his best to make amends over and over, taking everything one day at a time…but at least for now, he’s doing the work. (And Louie’s an angel.)
Rachel: I’m sure there are probably better answers to this if you watch more TV than I do, but I’m a movie girl, so I’m going to go with a moment that was just so much fun to watch: the dance scene in People We Meet On Vacation. Alex Nilsen is a guy who loves order and routine, so to see him become Vacation Alex and bust a move was a treat! And I don’t even like “Forever Your Girl!”
Ship of the Week

Raquel: Chenford!!!!!! Of course it has to be them. After a painful breakup and the way Tim rebuilt himself, earning Lucy’s trust back along the way during The Rookie Season 7, it was right that they had their moment. Tim opened his heart to her—when Lucy was awake—and she was honest about how she felt, how he broke her heart, and how much it hurt to put it back together. It feels like a beginning. A wonderful one.
Lizzie: Percy and Annabeth, from Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Look, Percy has been unhinged in Season 2, and he doesn’t even realize his feelings for Annabeth go past friendship anymore. When we hit Season 3, he’s going to go crazy …if you’ve read the books, you know. But yeah, Percy gave up the golden fleece and doomed the quest, and perhaps forfeited his own life and that of Clarisse and Grover to save Annabeth, and he didn’t even hesitate. And the thing is, he’d already told us he would do this. No one should be surprised.
Shana: Oh, come on. It’s EO. That one-sided phone call in the SVU part of the crossover revealed quite a lot about where Benson and Stabler are these days, and it is a good place. Finally, Liv feels like she can lean on El and open up enough to admit “things are maybe not great” for her. Coming from anyone else, I’d be like “OMG, just say you need him,” but in Olivia Benson language, that’s exactly what she did.
Jasmine: I couldn’t agree more with Shana on this. Olivia and Elliot have been through a lot. And I do mean a lot when it comes to their relationship. I was surprised by the phone call she made to him but in a good way. I’m loving that they are in a good place again. I’m glad they have each other in rough times.
Jennifer: Shane and Bex from The Hunting Party. The moment where Shane stopped Bex from trying to end the life of the killer who held her hostage peaked our interest. How could it not? It was Shane’s voice that brought her out of her haze. Additionally, it was also the first time we saw Bex lose her composure like this. Shane knew exactly what she needed to hear in order for her to stop and listen to reason. His voice comforted her and made her stop fighting. It was sweet despite being such a heavy moment. And showed us how their relationship is one that makes the other feel safe, especially on Bex’s side.
Rachel: I agree with Lizzie about Percabeth, and I will also add Morgan and Karadec on High Potential. Karadec put himself on the line with their Captain to get Morgan back on the case this week, and the look on his face when he saw Morgan with the art insurance investigator means that this ship will definitely be slow-burning their way into this category for me a lot in the future. For movies, it’s gotta be Poppy and Alex in People We Meet On Vacation, of course! Emily Bader and Tom Blyth were perfect!!
Best Performance of the Week

Raquel: I loved Alex MacNicoll as Dr. Van Markus in the latest episode of Brilliant Minds. He makes you feel the anger, the despair, the pain, and the acceptance after everything that happened to Michelle AKA the love of his life. It feels so real, and I was moved.
Lizzie: I really love Arienne Mandi as Eva Imani on Chicago P.D.. She’s given us so much in just eight episodes, to the point where we feel like we know her and understand why she makes the decisions she does. And her dynamic with Voight really works, for both of them. This isn’t just bias, though. She’s good. Procedurals don’t often get enough credit for the quality of their acting, and Mandi is flawless on a role that could be a caricature and is instead a real person because of the work she’s putting in.
Shana: I’m just going to put this here. Relive Amber Glenn’s INCREDIBLE short program in full from the U.S. Championships | NBC Sports
Jasmine: Since Beyond the Gates, CBS’s new Soap Opera began, the family matriarch Anita Dupree played by Tamara Tunie has been one of my favorite characters. I’ve loved Tamara as long as I can remember so I’m not surprised by her performance navigating Anita’s diagnosis of triple breast cancer. Watching her delivery of Anita finally allowing herself to express her anger and fear about the way her life will change and the possibility of leaving her family behind brought me to tears.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week

Raquel: Grey and Luna’s storyline in The Rookie. They were always a supportive couple, always there for each other. An example and an anchor for others. And now Grey tried to manipulate Luna by blaming her for them not spending time together and for having a purpose in life other than waiting for him, the one with whom she’s truly happy. This isn’t the Grey we know; he’s completely out of character, and I’m mad.
Lizzie: Hen’s storyline on 9-1-1. Three months and she didn’t tell her wife she was sick? Three months and she didn’t tell her team and continued to put others in danger because she wasn’t 100%? It makes no sense for Hen’s character, and the worst part is that the show doesn’t even try to justify it. They just expect us to go along with it.
Shana: That dude assuming Dr. Mohan was a nurse on The Pitt. His mom (the actual patient) might’ve apologized and explained he was being over-protective and all, but that still doesn’t mean his particular way of being over-protective was at all ok. Automatically assuming that a woman — especially a woman of color — is a nurse, and thinking a nurse is somehow inferior to a doctor so you can treat her like garbage on top of making your assumption, has nothing to do with being worried about a sick parent and everything to do with you needing to check your biases and your behavior.
Jennifer: I have to strongly agree with Lizzie here because it just doesn’t make sense to me why Hen would put herself at risk by pretending her illness didn’t exist. Or why she wouldn’t tell her family that she was sick and needed to be treated. I hate not being able to support or understand Hen because she’s one of my favorite characters in 9-1-1 and watching her spiral alone for no reason at all hurts.
We saw how Bobby died to protect his team, nobody knew he was dying until it was too late. Hen shouldn’t have even begun to walk in his selfless footsteps. Her actions weren’t noble. Hen’s silence was harmful to both herself and those she loves. Her sickness is serious and she has people who would hate to see her die. So, we’re annoyed that we can’t recognize her or support her reasons to be distant.
Lyra: 9-1-1: Nashville really went and had Blythe go through a harrowing incident where she thought she was going to die in the forest all by herself as just a way to make her husband and her father talk about her husband’s other child with another woman. Her trauma for them. Trash.
Quote of the Week

Raquel: “I wasn’t going to ask you to get back together, I was going to ask you to move in with me.” — The Rookie.
Lizzie: Polyphemus: Step aside, little brother. I have no desire to hurt you. These mortals belong to me.
Tyson: No, they don’t. And you’re not my brother. My brother is inside this cave. – Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Shana: “If it was a good morning, I’d still be in bed.” Dana, The Pitt.
Lyra: “You are wearing a chastity belt of your own.” – Buck, 9-1-1.
