Vulnerability in High Potential Season 2 Episode 12 ‘The Faust and the Furious’

High Potential Season 2 Episode 12 ‘The Faust and the Furious’ saw Morgadec win! And boy, did they win. It was about time they had an episode dedicated to them, one where something changed. At the beginning, Morgan sees Lucia at Karadec’s house. He tries to prevent it—he doesn’t want Morgan snooping too much and force him to confront things he’s not ready for—but Morgan sees them.
And in the previous episode, she realized that it bothered her. However, in this scene, she asks Karadec some rather revealing questions. Morgan wants to know if it’s just a fling and if Karadec is happy. That’s all she cares about: his happiness. But later, everything changes. In that dead-end room, filling with gas, Morgan has a panic attack.
Karadec tries to reach her and calm her down, but Morgan stops him. She’s used to handling things on her own. But Karadec throws everything to the wind in ‘The Faust and the Furious’ when he sees her getting worse. That’s when he hugs her. Very tightly. He whispers in her ear so that Morgan only hears his voice, so she can focus on his breathing to calm herself. But the best part is that Karadec has his eyes closed in the middle of that hug, to hold onto that moment in his memory, to feel her.
That’s why he can’t let her go, clinging to her a second longer than necessary, prolonging the moment. Karadec needs one more moment with her in his arms, where the outside world doesn’t exist. And what happens between them changes everything. Morgan isn’t used to being vulnerable in front of anyone. She hates appearing weak. Especially with Karadec, her partner, who relies on her being in control so they can use their abilities. That’s what his father taught her: she is only valued for her abilities. But Karadec doesn’t care about that. He doesn’t want her abilities; he wants her.

The Turning Point

Seeing Morgan so vulnerable in High Potential Season 2 Episode 12 ‘The Faust and the Furious,’ doesn’t make Karadec see her as weak; on the contrary. Morgan can be herself with him, chaos and panic included; she has no reason to be afraid. Morgan is not alone anymore. She has Karadec. And Karadec knows he isn’t alone either. Between them there are no masks or facades; they can be themselves with each other.
What Karadec feels with Morgan in High Potential Season 2 Episode 12 ‘The Faust and the Furious,’ inside that room changes his perspective on everything, including Lucia. He broke her heart; he knows it. And he did it because a part of him didn’t think he deserved to be happy with her. Now he still has the same doubts, but at least he’s open enough with Lucia to be honest about it. And to acknowledge that he’s trying hard to be the man she wants. The problem is that Karadec feels so guilty about how things ended and is fighting so hard not to hurt Lucia…that he’s losing himself in the process.
Karadec is struggling to fit in as the man he thinks Lucia wants and needs. But love and relationships aren’t about that. When it’s the right person, you just fit in. You don’t have to change to do it; on the contrary, you have to be able to show yourself as you truly are to that special person. That’s what’s happening with Morgan. Karadec knows he doesn’t need to pretend or try too hard to fit in; with Morgan, he can be himself.
And therein lies the key. Karadec finds himself torn between his head and his heart in High Potential Season 2 Episode 12 ‘The Faust and the Furious.’ He tries to repair the damage he caused Lucia, but no matter how hard he tries, he can’t because he feels something for Morgan. It’s something Karadec doesn’t yet dare to name, or even analyze, but it’s there.
That’s why he can’t take his eyes off Morgan during the funeral. And, whether they want to accept it or not, what happened between them was a turning point in their relationship and marked the beginning of something. They don’t yet know what it is, but they both feel it.

Other Stuff in High Potential Season 2 Episode 12 ‘The Faust and the Furious’

- We finally learn something about Oz! We enjoyed exploring his relationship with his family. And we felt bad for him. It’s normal for him to feel guilty, but Selina is right. Oz was also grieving and suffering. He wasn’t there because he couldn’t be. But now he is, and that’s what matters.
- This scene between Oz and Selina is pure gold. Just like his scene with Daphne.
- They said more than two lines in the episode! We’re celebrating!
- Morgadec’s head movements… they’re saying everything without saying a word.
- Karadec’s glances. We’re going to dream about those glances.
- Morgadec’s hug. We’re screaming!
- And Karadec staying a second longer, holding Morgan, just feeling her a little more…
- Nick Wagner has to appear. We need to know how his dynamic with the team will be after what happened with Morgan.
- The show also needs to show us more about Roman and Arthur. These storylines are moving way too slowly.
