Nothing matters more today than Off Campus being renewed for a second season. There were screams that came from me this morning as the news popped up in my email. The Elle Kennedy collegiate romantic drama sports series has been renewed, as well as a premiere window for the upcoming series.
Opening Instagram to see the post and fans reactions, I squealed. We have a poster, as well as a premiere window. The caption being one of the most epic captions, “It’s gonna be May.”
Off Campus gets it. They get social media. They get building excitement.
“Off Campus captures the kind of emotionally charged, character-driven storytelling that truly resonates with our global Prime Video audience,” Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television, Amazon MGM Studios, said in a statement. “With its passionate fan base, rich source material, and an incredible creative team bringing Briar U to life, we knew that this series had the depth and momentum to continue beyond its first season. Set against the high-intensity world of college hockey, the series explores deeply personal journeys and is brought to life by a tremendously talented cast whose chemistry and authenticity make every moment feel real. We have great confidence in the way Louisa has mastered this adaptation, and we’re excited to give fans even more of the romance, friendship, and heart that define the series.”
The first season will be based on the first novel in the series, The Deal. The subsequent seasons (and we are definitely wanting them all) will each follow a different book in the series – The Mistake, The Score, The Goal, and The Legacy. The Legacy is a novella with short stories about the couples in the Briar U series. And hey, trust us, the novels and the spinoff novels are really good.
AN AMAZING CAST
The official synopsis of the show reads, “follows the unlikely romance between a wry, hockey-hating music major (Bright) and Briar University’s playboy star center (Camelli). The series depicts the elite ice hockey team, and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery—forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood.”
The cast we know already include Ella Bright as Hannah Wells; Belmont Camelli as Garrett Graham; Mika Abdalla as Allie Hayes; Antonio Cipriano as John Logan; Jalen Thomas Brooks as John Tucker; Josh Heuston as Justin; Stephen Kalyn as Dean; Steve Howey as Phil Graham; Khobe Clarke as Beau Maxwell.
Additional cast members include, AJ Abell, Francesca Bianchi, Kai Bradbury, Karis Cameron, Josh Chambers, Riley Davis, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Chelah Horsdal, and Quinten James. Reoccurring cast members were also announced, Dylan Kingwell, Riley Orr, Lauren Patten, Frankie Randysek, Brandon Scott, Jennifer Spence, Julia Sarah Stone, Marlee Walchuk, and Chad Willett.
Prime Video gods gave us a lot of greatness today and we appreciate having something to look forward to this May.
