Lets be honest here, the only reason that a lot of people will look past the title of Kissed by Claw And Fang, is because of its stars – Hannah Lowry, Evan Adams, and Ben Armstrong. The title feels like it is one of those opportunities to know that fans will watch despite the horrible title and the key art. We see the laurels that people are resting on and while we can respect them, we’re still gonna call out the way that these titles all need to be fixed.
The titles of verticals are absolutely horrible.
It feels like these three stars are everywhere these days. We’re glad to see these actors individually so seeing them together in a vertical that is both fun and also WTF – well we’re down.
The series is about, “a homeless teen Ivy conceals her poverty from elite school bullies while living in her car. She learns she’s fated to werewolf heir Sebastian and vampire prince Zane. As romance develops, a secret about her past endangers everything.”
Every time I walk away from a vertical series, I ask myself – was I entertained? The answer for that is mostly always yes. I enjoy the drama and the escape from my life. This one – immediately I was like well, these teachers and school officials need to be in trouble for not getting a teenage girl living in her car. I mean she’s in the school parking lot, so you can’t convince me that they didn’t know.
Sebastian and Zane are new to the school. A future alpha and a vampire king living together because their elders said it was necessary (basically), find themselves trying to keep their identities hidden while learning to live in harmony. They bicker, they fight, and they apparently have the same mate.
Ivy.
Ivy used to be the schools it girl. But all of her families money is gone and her Mom is in a coma. She’s fighting to just keep her Mom alive and to stay above water. She’s keeping her head down but she’s also way too stressed out for a teenager.
The school “it girl” who used to be her bestie is making her life miserable. I do have to wonder, does anyone know the meaning of loyalty these days? I really don’t think that they do. It’s like you see the fall of someone and rejoice in it. It’s kinda sick. Isn’t it enough that you already stole her disloyal boyfriend?
TBH, I wouldn’t survive high school. It’s vicious. There always seems like there is something that is going on there to bring someone down. Luckily for Ivy, Sebastian and Zane are stepping in at every turn to help her. When they find that she’s living in her car and the whole school is harassing her, they invite her to live with them.
Love triangles are always interesting to me because you know that someone is going to get hurt, but yet you can’t look away from them. I love a good love triangle and the one between these three is funny. Especially because Ivy thinks that Zane and Sebastian are together, therefore she doesn’t even know one is going on for quite sometime.
Every single time she catches them fighting, I have to laugh. She’s so embarrassed and apologizes each time. The two are fighting over her.
She just doesn’t know.
But as she chooses Sebastian and remains with Zane as her bestie, things are getting complicated. She finds out that they are supernatural creatures and it doesn’t bother her. She’s just human, and is learning about being a part of their world. But she’s also allowing them to be a part of hers.
I know I should never laugh at a person falling off a roof, but when she lands on the big werewolf – I legitimately belly laughed. It was so reminiscent of The Twilight Saga. That is one big wolf in one mans body.
While the series pacing goes along really well, it’s the twist at the end that angered me. I never thought that was coming until it did and then I was like where is your proof? Sebastian you have no proof, but you’re an a**.
But that cliffhanger? Yes, I get it is “to be continued” but who knows how long that will take.
Kissed by Claw And Fang is just supposed to be fun, high school drama. It took us through anger, laughter, wanting to punch people, and thankful that I am out of high school. Not to mention that I am not Team Sebastian at the end. He can go away.
And if Ivy is homeless again because of Sebastians stupidity, I hope he eats wolfsbane.
OTHER THOUGHTS
- Evan Adams abs are all always pretty to look at
- What is up with men liking bowl cuts and hair that feathers now a days
- Blood bags… ick
- That is a nice penthouse
- Rufus – we all hate you
- Brady you really suck
- We’d let the vampire or the werewolf take advantage of us.
