We watch a lot of TV and movies! So yeah, we’re fangirling over a lot of things! Each week we come together to highlight all the feels they give us throughout the week. On these Fangirlish Feels of the Week, there are five categories and many thoughts! Ready?
Here we go!
Best Scene of the Week

Raquel: Jamie fighting with his men against Cunningham and his militia in this week’s Outlander. In his kilt. I love him, your honor.
Rachel: I’m still enthralled by Project Hail Mary and I hope it’s not too late to gush about it here in Feels of the Week! I know there is a lot of good TV going on right now but this is a really special film to see on the big screen. The fishing sequence, where Ryan Gosling’s Ryland Grace and Rocky the alien retrieve some samples of the natural predator that can stop the astrophage that’s killing the sun and other stars, is the kind of thing cinema was made for. Visually and emotionally, it is astounding.
Ashley W.: I’m torn between choosing the prison fight scene between Daredevil/Matt Murdock and Swordsman/Jack Duquesne versus the Anti-Vigilante Task Force in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 3: “The Scales & the Sword” and the fight scene in space versus the Viltrumites in Invincible season 4, episode 5: “Give Us a Moment.” It was so fun to see Daredevil and Swordsman team up and in action together, and the fight against the Viltrumites in space was brutal (and disturbing) but so riveting. It’s a real treat for comic book/superhero fans to have these shows airing at the same time!
Lizzie: I got very emotional at the NCIS team toasting Vance in his office. We didn’t get the funeral, and I get how that could have been a logistical nightmare, but I think we needed this moment of everyone coming together to celebrate Vance’s legacy.
Lyra: Really loved how the gang went full on Scooby-Doo to prove chimney’s innocence in this week’s 9-1-1. And I mean everyone. They were over at the call center getting help from Maddie and Josh. We got an Eddie and Josh reunion, which was something I’ve been waiting for. Then we even got a scene of all of them in Eddie’s kitchen, the holy grail of important conversations happening. And the whole gang was there, including Ravi, Harry, and May.
Shana: That jail scene in For All Mankind was top tier. C.S. Lee and Joel Kinnaman were great, the imagery and how the camera worked around the cells was stunning, and it was a terrible indictment of what’s happening in the real world.
Ship of the Week

Raquel: I’ll say Chenford and Morgadec. Chenford didn’t get much screen time on ABC’s The Rookie this week, but they always manage to have a very cute moment. As for Morgadec, High Potential this week was tough for them, but it’s part of the process, and it’s becoming increasingly clear where their hearts truly lie.
Lizzie: I’m just loving what NCIS: Sydney is doing with Mackey and JD these days. Slow and steady wins the race in procedurals, but they’ve been such a strong partnership and having Mackey confide in JD about the danger her son might be in, even if it took her a bit, felt perfectly in character. There’s no one she trusts to have her back more than her partner. And I know this storyline is going to give us A+ ship content.
Jasmine: My two faves Matt and Serena on St. Denis Medical Episode 2×17 FINALLY had their moment with their very first kiss. The tension has been building between the two of them since season 1. This moment was so worth the wait. It was a sweet kiss and I’m so glad that the series took its time building up to it. I’m ready for more moments. Now I just need to figure out a ship name. 😄
Best Performance of the Week

Raquel: I’ll say Kaitlin Olson. In this week’s episode of High Potential, I could feel the difference between that spark Morgan feels for Nick—and wants to explore—and where her heart really is—ahem, ahem, Karadec, ahem, ahem.
Rachel: I’m going to go back to Project Hail Mary and say that Ryan Gosling’s performance is incredible. The entire film hinges on his character, and he has to carry many scenes alone, which is no small feat. The moment when Rocky offers some of his fuel to help Ryland return to Earth is phenomenal. Ryland had already given up hope, or told himself that he had, and his reaction says so much. Gosling is remarkable and I would not be surprised if awards attention comes his way next year.
Ashley W.: Sandra Oh is phenomenal as Debbie in Invincible season 4, episode 5: “Give Us a Moment.” Her scene with Nolan is so well done, emotional, and powerful. She reminds us that actors deserve love and praise for voice work, too.
Lizzie: So annoying considering the news, but I thought Supriya Ganesh’s Samira Mohan was outstanding in this week’s The Pitt. It was a very welcome reminder of what works in the show, which isn’t as much the cases as the way we get to be there for one complicated shift in these doctors’ lives.
Lyra: My girl Darlene Mitchell on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Not only is she heading to the finale, but she did it during a challenge that really exemplified how unique of a talent she is, but also how fun and relatable she is. I too would look back at some ribs with delight but then lament that I’m already too full so I should ignore them.
Jasmine: Lili Reinhart as Apple in Forbidden Fruits. I wasn’t expecting to feel emotional watching her performance because the film is so campy. But I think her performance was amazing. She managed to bring a lot of different layers to the character. She actually made me feel sad for her. She delivered such a raw vulnerability in the final sequence in the film. She really transforms into the role so well that I didn’t even see Lili. I actually couldn’t take my eyes off the screen because she was so impressive. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen her in a film but this was a performance that stuck with me.
Shana: Echoing Lizzie here and saying Supriya Ganesh in The Pitt. You could pick pretty much anyone from that cast any week and be correct that they laid down an incredible performance, but Ganesh blew everyone away. Easily. She will be greatly, greatly, greatly missed next season.
Moment that Annoyed Us This Week

Rachel: The Morgan and Wagner kiss on High Potential. Yes, I get that this is what TV shows do to keep couples apart. Karadec is back with his ex Lucia right now, so why shouldn’t Morgan have a bit of fun? I also understand that this is going to be a short-term thing. I have a hard time believing Morgan would stay with someone whose family played a part in taking Roman away from her and her daughter. It would just overshadow everything, despite Wagner not being involved personally in Roman’s disappearance. Still, I didn’t like the kiss. #Morgadec forever!
Ashley W.: In The Rookie season 8, episode 13: “The Thinker,” Dr. Ashton admitting to “harmless flirting” with Luna was absurdly ridiculous. Flirting cannot be harmless when at least one of the people involved is in a committed relationship!
Raquel: I completely agree with Ashley W. here! That doctor has a top spot on my blacklist, right next to Amaranthus, who in the last episode of Outlander continued to toy with William’s feelings, making sure he was increasingly ensnared in her web. PS: Special shout-out to Elspeth Cunningham and her son. Nobody hurts my baby Jamie!
Lizzie: I’m a little over every new chief Chicago Fire brings being a problem. I kinda liked how the Chief Hopkins storyline made Kelly want to fight for this position that he never really wanted, but it kinda feels like the same storyline again. Which only makes it feel like all the time the show invested in Pascal was for nothing.
Jasmine: Joyce is constantly self sabotaging. And on St. Denis Medical Episode 2×17 she was once again her own worst enemy. She ruined her moment during the ribbon cutting for the birthing center. If she had just kept things simple she probably wouldn’t have face planted off a stage and ended up missing her own big moment.
Quote of the Week

Raquel: “Did you tell him that we killed his father?” “No. Nor did I tell him that you killed his mother.” — Jamie and Claire from Outlander.
Ashley W.: “You’re lying. You’re a liar. … Yeah, he’s telling the truth.” – Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, episode 3: “The Scales & the Sword.”
Lyra: “Actually, you shouldn’t hope for that. Cuz if we’re at a call and the 144 is there, that means it’s a multiple alarm incident. Which means possible multiple fatalities. So technically, if everything goes well, we’ll never see ya again.” – Buck to Sam on 9-1-1.
Jasmine: “Being a witch is being a sister, and we must protect our sisterhood by any means necessary”. – Apple, Forbidden Fruits.
Shana: “I’m extra good at math when I’m hungry.” – Detective Yates, Wild Cards.
