This week’s Boston Blue, “Blood Chemistry” saw Lena and Danny investigate a drug scandal, but there was a twist: they needed Sean and Jonah to go undercover. And their undercover work wasn’t the best. We also met Kenzie who was fun, and Sean’s ex-girlfriend made another appearance, and honestly, she kind of annoyed us. Nevertheless, it was an entertaining hour.
We review Boston Blue Season 1, Episode 14 below!
Undercover at Delulu U

First, we loved Kenzie. She was a breath of fresh air in “Blood Chemistry.” She was upbeat, made us laugh, and clearly liked Jonah. We’re pretty sure she’s also smarter than she acted because she gave Lena and Danny good information into the Delulu U parties and where the drugs were sold. But we don’t think Danny liked the idea of coming on her podcast (although that would have been hilarious.)
Sean and Jonah were picked to go over undercover because they were young enough to get into the party. But we’re not mad about it because we always enjoy when Danny and Lena work with Sean and Jonah. However, Sean and Jonah weren’t great at going undercover. And part of that was due to Penny.
Look, we get Penny’s mad because Sean ghosted her. That stinks. But, like Lena said, Sean’s cover was blown in 30 seconds. We really wish she hadn’t made an appearance. Or at the very least, not announced “Are you undercover right now?” Geez.
Penny annoyed us even more when she didn’t answer any of Danny’s questions. She did make it up to us when she gave Sean some helpful information which lead Lena and Danny to the guy who made the drugs. And we do believe she didn’t want anyone else to get hurt. But we hope that Sean and Penny don’t get back together anytime soon. Because, honestly, she caused way too much drama for us which took up time in the episode that could have been spent on people we care more about.
Lena and Danny’s Partnership

Lena and Danny had some great conversations during “Blood Chemistry.” Danny feels kind of jealous of his dad and Sean’s relationship, and we’re glad he feels comfortable enough to talk to Lena about it. Also, he mentioned during the media interview that he and Lena like each other, which can make or break a partnership. He’s right. And we’re glad that Danny can lean on Lena and vice versa.
While Danny hates the media (unlike Frank), Lena likes the attention. Danny teases her, but the reason why she wants her name out in the press is for her biological father to see. His abandonment still affects her after all of these years. You can tell how upset she was when she saw her artwork. We remembered she stopped drawing because she thought she got that talent from her biological father and doesn’t want anything to do with him.
Lena’s conversation about her father with Mae brings us back to last week. We’re really curious about who Lena’s father is. And we have a feeling that she’s going to need Danny’s support more than ever once she knows the entire truth about her past.

Other Thoughts:
- Kenzie impressed us so much by wanting to give her $5,000 reward to the grandma of the drug victims so she could afford a burial. This showed us that Kenzie does have a heart and cares about others. After one episode she really won us over and after one episode, she’s one of our favorites. We hope to see her again.
- The conversations about Frank Reagan really made us miss him. Will he be making an appearance soon? Is that why he’s being mentioned more? *Fingers crossed*
- We’re glad that Mae kept pushing her dad to get tested for his heart problem. Early detection can help so many, and he may not have gotten the best treatment or any help at all if she hadn’t had been so persistent. We’re glad that Boston Blue touched on this because so many men don’t think they need to go to the doctor. Maybe this can help convince someone to go get help.
